German Shepherds are intelligent, loyal, and trainable, but their strong prey drive and high energy levels can make living with cats a challenge. Without proper socialization, they may instinctively chase or intimidate feline companions. However, with consistent training and early exposure to cats, German Shepherds can learn to coexist peacefully. Their protective nature may extend to the cat once a bond is established, but careful supervision is crucial during initial interactions. This breed requires an experienced owner who can manage their energy and instincts effectively. While it takes effort, German Shepherds can adapt to multi-pet households with proper guidance.

My GSD, Bailey, was 3 months old when I got him and I had 4 cats. Bailey gets along very well with cats all his life. He's 11 years now.

Little Rain is only 9 weeks old and already homeless. She and her siblings were found alone and soaking wet in the recent SoCAL rain storms. We searched high and low for their family, but no one ever came forward. With all of the local shelters overflowing with animals, we suspect that they were abandoned.

Rain is a playful, silly, happy girl who loves to wrestle with her siblings. She would make a wonderful new family member for a loving family! See more photos at gsroc.org

6-month-old Stella is a shepherd mix who lost her home when her family no longer had space for her. She is very sweet and well-mannered for a puppy.
