🧡Update from June Bug and Samantha’s mom—🖤🤍she says they are doing just fine ! They look so different now, cuddled together and so wide eyed and engaged. It must be because they are in a home with a family and loved again! There is a new energy and confidence so evident. We could not be happier.

A huge thank you to Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions, a non profit organization in Las Vegas that reached out to us and offered to take some of our adoption ready cats to help us make room for more. We sent 12 of our adoption ready cats this weekend, which opens room to take in more cats from shelters overrun with displaced cats from the LA fires. 🙏🏼 Seven of our twelve cats have already been adopted! 👏👏🎉

This sweet video appeared on a local Las Vegas news channel 3, where we got to see our KR cats, settling in, happy and playful.

More good news? Kitten Rescue has been approached by two other organizations to take cats from Los Angeles to help make room for cats displaced by the fires. With teamwork like this, we can do so much more to save the lives of these vulnerable cats and relieve their suffering. 💕

Incoming: Tabby Triplets! ❗️❗️❗️This week we were able to rescue this adorable litter of three curious, playful affectionate kittens. Their names are Naomi, Amos and Holden, and if you are in the know about currently streaming shows, you will understand they are called the Expanse litter! Welcome kitties!

We got these two kittens today, a boy and a girl, no names yet, but they came from the shelter and they have scabies! 🙀 Scabies is a contagious skin disease caused by mites, and shows up as severe itching, crusting and hair loss. Scabies is eminently treatable, but this condition puts the kittens at high risk for shelter euthanasia.

We are lucky to have had room at our sanctuary to rescue them today, as they need strict isolation and safety protocols to prevent spread. This is a great example of what we can do when we have FOSTERS and ADOPTERS show up for us during these most challenging times! An empty enclosure after adoption/foster means room to save more kittens like these! Updates with names to follow soon !

🥳🎉REUNITED🎉🥳. Get ready for the the most exciting news: NORWICH, (real name PANCHO), the kitty we posted who was lost in the fires, was REUNITED with his parents today at our Sanctuary! 👏👏The power of social media is strong; this outreach brought them back together. His humans are over the moon with happiness to have their sweet boy back and Pancho seemed pretty relieved too. 😻Before he left, Pancho was microchipped to make sure he can always be identified and returned should anything like this ever happen again, though the family is NOT planning to let him out of their sight! A big thank you to our entire cat community for helping amplify this story and helping Pancho find his way back home. 👉👉We can’t do this alone, we need people like you to continue to step up any way you can at this critical time when animals are in desperate need of being rescued and reunited with their families. Whether that’s by donating, fostering, running with us in the LA marathon to save cats, or simply sharing our posts, all of it helps, more than you know. We are stronger together, right Pancho?

It’s the double whammy—the temperate climate in Los Angeles leads to an early kitten season, meaning the three kittens in this video were born sometime in December 2024! 🙀🙀The person who found them outdoors contacted long time foster Darla at Kitten Rescue and agreed to become a Kitten Rescue foster parent and take them into her home to raise for adoption. That was, until the fires caused her to need to evacuate the day before she was to get the kittens. She is still evacuated and her home may have smoke damage. 😔Darla stepped up and will temporarily foster these three until the original foster is ready to take them! Thanks to both fosters who worked together to keep these little babies safe and healthy against many challenging odds. Fostering and adopting right now—is absolutely saving lives as we all try to reduce the number of cats at risk at shelters and make room for more temporarily displaced cats during these unpredented times.

We have the most beautiful news. 💕Samantha and June Bug, senior mother and daughter ages 13 and 15, were ADOPTED TOGETHER yesterday!! 👏👏 An amazing woman who love senior cats took them home.

Samantha and June Bug came to us about a year and a half ago after their family moved away and simply left them behind.🥺 (bottom right photo is their shelter rescue day). A dedicated advocate for cats, had contacted us, told us their story and made a plea for their rescue.
We took them in and they did well in our social room, hanging out along with the other cats, but always staying close. Now they are loved and safe forever. Happy Tears ! 😻🙋🏻‍♀️💕

Amidst all of the fires and upheaval so many people are doing their part to help animals. We have onboarded so many new foster parents and people like June Bug and Sam’s mom are adopting, to make room for more cats affected by the fires. 💕

Meet Moon🌕🌘 and his sister Mia, the dynamic duo you never knew you needed🦸🦸🏽‍♀️! These two playful kittens are ready to steal your heart with their irresistible charm and endless cuddles. Moon, is a cheeky tuxedo kitten 🤵with a flair for mischief, which pairs perfectly with his sister's more soft and gentle demeanor.🫠 Moon is all about having fun. Whether it’s racing around the room exploring new adventures or sneakily batting at your shoes, he’s sure to keep you entertained. When he's not busy causing kitten chaos, he's usually snuggled up with Mia and sharing his cheeky charm, ideally curled up on your lap, as they both love to show affection and make biscuits whenever the opportunity is there!
Mia is a sweet and gentle tortoiseshell kitten with a heart as warm as her colors. ❤️❤️
She’s the quiet observer of the pair, always there to offer a soft paw or a purr when you need it most.
Despite her calm nature, Mia loves to play, especially when there's a cozy blanket or a string toy involved—she’ll pounce and purr with all the elegance of a little lion!🦁Together, they're the perfect mix of gentle and playful, always looking for new adventures and moments to share with you. If you’re ready for double the affection then stop by Off the Leash, Glendale (), this afternoon for a chance to meet these two charmers and all their friends. We need all the help we can get🙏

The past few weeks have been some of the toughest this city has ever seen, and we still don’t know the full extent of damage, displacement, and the impact on the animals, but we do know that every single day, more and more lost, injured, and displaced pets are showing up. Add to that, a kitten season that’s just starting to ramp up, and you can imagine how overburdened the system continues to be. But YOU can help💕! If you’ve been considering adopting a cat, now is the best time possible. For every one cat you take, we have the opportunity to take in that many more, it’s called the system, after all🐈🐈🐈 and if you’d like to meet some of our adoptable cats, in person, then please join us at one of our weekend adoption events, starting with PetSmart, South Torrance (), this afternoon or Off the Leash, Glendale () tomorrow. We are so grateful for your support and hope to see you soon🙏

Congratulations Carrot Cake🎉 and thank you Pasadena Humane ()! 🥕🍰Carrot Cake is a Kitten Rescue cat, and we are so thankful that he has been found and reunited with his family🥹. All our rescue cats are microchipped prior to adoption and Carrot Cake’s story is an important reminder to chip your cats🐈🐈‍⬛! Carrot Cake suffered burns to his paw pads and is now in the care of our partner vet, LA Pet Clinic, where he is receiving daily wound changes and pain medication. Soon, he and his dad will be together again. It truly takes a village and we couldn’t be more thankful to this incredible community🙏

Kitten season is starting so early this year 🥹and right in the midst of the fires. These tiny, vulnerable babies just entered the shelter with no mom to care for them. They are three days old.
Thankfully, they are now safe, warm and eating well thanks to one of our devoted bottle baby foster parents, and receiving the round-the-clock care they need to survive. 🙏🏼The foster named them Dean and Sam ,and they are the official first Kitten Rescue bottle babies of 2025! (Sound up for the video!)

With so many animals displaced by the fires and kitten season beginning, the need for fosters is greater than ever. If you can open your home to a foster kitten, now is the time! Fill out the foster application to get involved: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/KRLA/Cat

Thank you to our incredible community for always stepping up for these tiny lives. Together, we make rescue possible.💕

In the midst of the fires, we are stepping up to help shelters in need by creating space for more displaced animals. Yesterday, we pulled our first mom and babies of the season from North Central Animal Shelter.

Meet Lucy and her six adorable kittens. 🐱💖 This sweet family is now safe and sound, receiving all the care and love they need in a loving foster home.

By pulling cats like Lucy and her babies, we are not only giving them a chance at a better life, but also freeing up critical space in municipal shelters so they can continue to take in animals affected by the fires.

Your support makes this lifesaving work possible.

📣 Want to help? Donations of supplies or funds are always appreciated. Click here to donate: https://kittenrescue.networkforgood.com/projects/24979-help-us-save-more-cats-and-kittens

Together, we can make a difference for people and cats affected by the fires. 💕

🔥 Debbie Harry and Friends are Safe! 🔥

On the first night of the Eaton Fires, Debbie Harry was safely evacuated with her foster mom and fellow foster kitties. Thanks to YOU—our incredible community—who opened your hearts and homes by fostering and adopting from the Sanctuary, we made room for cats affected by the fires. 💕

Debbie Harry is safe, but she’s still looking for her forever home (or a foster family)! Could that be you? 🐾

With the winds picking up again, the fire’s future remains uncertain. We are actively creating space for more displaced cats. If you’ve had to evacuate due to the fires and need a safe place for your cats, please email us at [email protected].

We’re here for you and your animals, Los Angeles. Together, we’ll get through this. 🐾💙

Sesame’s adoption journey got temporarily sidelined when he was diagnosed with FIP, but that’s all behind him now and he’s ready to find his forever home. Sesame is the sweetest boy and very brave, too! =
Please come to our sanctuary in Atwater Village to meet him and fall in love! 💕 We are open 7 days a week from noon to 5pm.
