Do y'all remember cutie William from last week? Well here's his doctor, one of our internists, Dr. Betty Chow! She stresses personalized patient care as well as empowering owners to make educated decisions along the course of their pets' treatment plan. Dr. Chow takes special interest in gastroenterology and is a board member of the Comparative Gastroenterology Society. She also lectures regularly, including her upcoming ASEC CE event in April!

The best time to wear a striped sweater, is allll the time (if you know, you know) 🎶 Meet William!! He was having chronic GI and bloating issues and wound up hospitalized at ASEC in 2023. His mom struggled to get him to feel better but then he met Dr. Chow in our Internal Medicine department and all that changed! After much investigation, she got William started on combination of diet, immune medications, prokinetic therapy and supportive treatments. He sees Dr. Chow for regular checkups and continues to do well at home! ❤️🐾

Now through January 31, all donations made to VCA Charities at VCA Animal Hospitals throughout California will support disaster relief efforts, including support for pets impacted by the current devasting fires in the Los Angeles area. VCA Animal Hospitals is proud to support VCA Charities, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in their disaster relief efforts. Every dollar helps local animal welfare organizations shelter, transport and care for pets through grants that fund veterinary care, medication, food, and supplies.

Donations can be made at any VCA Animal Hospitals or visit VCACharities.org to donate online.

Our hearts are with our cities and its communities during such an unprecedented time. There are so many resources that are being rapidly shared on socials, it’s truly amazing. One of the places our managers have been keeping close eyes on is app.watchduty.org - gives active list of shelters for families and animals.

Many of the local general practices and boarding facilities have opened their doors and will take as many as they can house. Many animal food companies have offered free or discounted supplies to those impacted. VCA hospitals in the area will continue to do their best to share updates on additional resources on our websites and socials as we have them.
