Bailey’s story is one of resilience, love, second chances, and one we’ll never forget 🤍 Bailey first entered a shelter as a puppy in 2014. Nearly a decade later, she was found wandering the streets and was brought back to the shelter, where we met her. Dogs like Bailey rarely make it out of the shelter, but we knew she deserved a second chance. This poor girl had the odds stacked against her with medical challenges. She was blind, battled skin infections, and more. She endured so much, yet never lost her gentle, loving spirit. Her incredible foster family welcomed her with open arms, giving her the safety and love she had been waiting for all her life. Early last month, Bailey was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. Heartbreakingly, there wasn’t a path forward for treatment. On November 15th, 2024 her foster officially adopted her, giving her the loving family she never had.Last weekend, we said goodbye to our sweet Bailey. With her family by her side, she left this world surrounded by love, comfort, and peace. Bailey’s journey is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do: to give medical dogs like her a second chance, no matter how much time they have left. Please consider making a donation in her honor to help us save more dogs in need. 🐾🌈 To donate, click the link in our bio or visit http://wagsandwalk.org
This is Bumble and Bee. Last week, we got word from a local shelter about two 9-week-old puppies with a severe case of Juvenile Cellulitis (also know as puppy strangles) and Alopecia. Once we learned about them, we knew we had to help. Puppy strangles causes severe swelling, hair loss, fevers, and loss of appetite and can be deadly if left untreated. The shelter is no place for a puppy, let alone puppies with complex medical needs.
These two are now safe in our program getting the care they need to heal. While their recovery will take time and consistent medical treatment, our hearts are full knowing they’re getting the help they deserve.
Your consistent support allows us to save dogs like Bumble and Bee. Today is #GivingTuesday and our goal is to raise $75,000 in support of their care and other medical dogs who are at-risk in the shelter! Together, we can save more lives and get more shelter dogs to safety. Every dollar donated today up to $20,000 will be matched by a generous donor. Please donate to double your impact and help us save more lives:

Today is #GivingTuesday, the most important giving day of the year for nonprofits like ours, and we need your help to raise $75,000 for our medical fund! Thanks to a generous donor, every dollar donated today up to $20,000 will be matched, doubling your impact.
Saving the most vulnerable and at-risk dogs is at the heart of what we do. From treating life-threatening illnesses like Parvo to providing long-term care for injured and neglected dogs, your support makes it possible to step in when they need us the most. This year alone we spent over $600,000 on vet bills, including 55 major medical cases, 420 spay and neuters, 30 parvo cases, and 50 mamas and litters.
Medical cases are often urgent. Without donors like you, saying yes to these critical cases wouldn’t be possible. With shelters overcrowded and resources stretched thin, your generosity truly saves lives.
When you donate to Wags, you give dogs a second chance. With today’s donor match, your gift goes twice as far! Donate now or share this post to help us reach our goal.
