As temperatures soar this summer, it's crucial to recognize the unique risks that heat poses to our beloved brachycephalic pets 🐾

⚠️ WHY ARE BRACHYCEPHALIC BREEDS MORE VULNERABLE?
brachycephalic dogs have shorter airways and noses, which makes it harder for them to regulate their body temperature through panting. This makes them more susceptible to heatstroke, even in moderate temperatures.

🌡️ RECOGNIZING THE SIGNS OF HEATSTROKE
Keep an eye out for symptoms like excessive panting, drooling, rapid heartbeat, disorientation, and even collapse. if you notice these signs, act quickly!

🚨 IMMEDIATE STEPS TO TAKE
1) MOVE TO A COOLER AREA: Get your pet indoors or into the shade immediately
2) COOL THEM DOWN: Apply cool (not cold) water to their body, especially around their head and neck

1) Don't ever let the bottom of the food bowl show
2) NEVER SAY NO
3) I must be entertained 100% of the time
4) I don't know where you take my poop, but keep it up.
5) Give me love, only when i want it.
6) Give lots of snacks. Just food doesn't cut it.

Ever played Beanboozled? Pick your jellybean color. Trick is do you get the yummy flavor or the gross one? Peach 🍑 or puke 🤮? Cappuccino or liver/onions? This crew were all good sports and played multiple rounds 😂

A little baby shower for Dr Sanchez!! Tomorrow is her last day before maternity leave so she will be gone for a few months. We had a baby food guessing contest and we had quite a few 🤢 not so enjoyable choices. Claudia especially was not a fan. 😂 And Abby and her baby joined us for the festivities 🥳 today!!! She’s been working from home 🏡 since she had him so this was awesome for us 💕 Reply to this to give Dr S a big send off before she has her baby!!!

This sweet, mellow girl still needs a home! She’s about 2 years old, healing from a curable skin ailment. Dog, cat, and baby tested!
