Team Trixie (located in the UK) is doing so well! ♥️🐾🐾♥️

Aunty K tempted mum out of the house wiff promises of lunch, so I got to zoom at a park first, where i met a frenchie to play wiff. Then we went to the Foodworks cafe again.
This time I knew what to do wiffout being told. I waited in the queue wiff mum, then went straight under the table and laid down. I stayed like that for the whole meal, wiff my head on mums foot, so I could boop it to alert if needed. (I had to twice for HR changes).
I ignored the children and people milling about, and only came out when I was asked to (to be given payment in form of 2 lil bits of donut at the end). Then I was allowed to say hi (calmly) to 2 people who asked to pet me, and said what a good girl I am helping mum.

What happens when you have a service dog? You have a part of their heart and they have a part of yours so you become in sync so deeply the connection between the two of you is bound with titanium and love.
What is the hardest part about having a service dog? Their lives are much shorter than we can imagine it to be.
The Chosen2Serve Pack is gathering around Team Suki as they prepare for Suki to cross the Rainbow Bridge to join her Packmates who have crossed before her. This is what her Handler and Owner wrote about this difficult decision that none of us ever want to make even though we all know we will have to make it about our own partners one day:

“Over the last 10 or so years, Suki has been by my side. She has saved my life more times than I can count. In the last few weeks, her health has rapidly declined and I have had to make the awful decision to assist her across the rainbow bridge. I know she touched so many of your lives. Thank you for being a part of hers and making it wonderful. I will be having her cremated so that she can come home with me, where she belongs.”

We love you Shannon Curry and Suki. Suki helped so many people get over their misconceptions of pitties being service dogs. Suki will always be part of our Pack. Please celebrate Suki by giving your own pup a hug and a sweet boop. The time we are given with them is never enough. ♥️🐾🐾♥️

What’s cooking at Chosen2 Serve, Inc. LA Branch? Homemade dog treats of course!!!!
Today’s treat is Sweet Potato Stars!
I created the following recipe:

Preheat oven to 350*F
4 containers of Ge**er Sweet Potatoes
1 smashed medium banana
1 cup of all natural creamy peanut butter
1 large egg
3 cups of barley flour

Mix the above ingredients together until blended well. If the dough is too liquidy add more flour. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to set in the refrigerator over night.
Sprinkle barley flour on your work surface and turn the dough out into the flour. Knead by hand until the dough is blended and forming into a ball. Roll out the dough thin and cut star shapes with your star cookie cutter. Place Stars on cookie sheets that have been sprayed with baking spray (I use coconut oil spray)
Bake for 10 minutes or until golden on the tops of the stars. Place on cooling racks until completely cooled. Store in an airtight container. Bon a-pup- teet! 🥰

Hey Pack!
I have to fly to Ohio either tomorrow or Saturday to get this gorgeous sweet boy (Tank) to his new momma. Tank is one of our service dogs in training and his new momma will be working him with our help so he can be able to register in Canada as her service dog once his training is complete. (Where he is going in Canada requires the dogs to be tested and registered as service dogs, Canada does not follow the ADA guidelines) I have to get the plane ticket, rental car, hotel, food and the cost of someone taking care of my dogs at my house here in California whilst I am gone. Today I had an appointment with my Allergist. A new doctor for me and as I was taking the steps to get Vahla ready for my appointment, I realised I haven’t written an information and recommendation post in a long time

What should I do for my service dog before the doctor’s appointment and what should I bring with us for my service dog?

I bathed Vahla, washing and rinsing her twice, towel dried her and combed out enough fur to create another German Shepherd. I cleaned all of her leather gear and washed her shoes and patches 2 days early so they would be clean and presentable. No puppy perfume because I am trying to cut back on as many allergens as possible. Remember, they have to accommodate a service dog team, we must be courteous and accommodate other patients. Many people are allergic to dogs, so I was brought into the office through a different door and was placed into a room immediately. I brought Vahla’s blanket and had her sit/lay on it to prevent as many stray fur fluffs from going about the room. She has been thoroughly brushed out before we left the house. We had a very good experience because of my preplanning and willingness to be polite and sympathetic of others’ needs.
Please be kind and do as much as you can to help the staff, who have to find a way to accommodate every person, not just the service dog team. ♥️

Rainy days mean more inside time. Loki’s adorable new best friend is one of our Packmates here for 2 weeks. His name is Gozo! How cute is that he and that name!! BunnyBear came over for a few hours, so she and Vahla snuggled together and napped. Calavera is always his adorable, curious puppy self. ♥️
I absolutely love what we do at Chosen2Serve! ❤

Meet Calavera! Cal is a 9 week old Standard Xolo and the latest service dog prospect for us!
There will be so much that will be entrusted to those paws once he is fully trained service dog and paired with his disabled handler 2 years (3 if his handler needs mobility assistance). But first, he will be a puppy! He will learn his basic obedience, get through proper socialisation, get intermediate obedience and start training for his task set skills, all before he begins public access.
