The 4th of July can be very scary for some animals. Tax and Louie have spent the weekend with Jacqueline, where the fireworks are less scary when you have your friends to focus on and play with.
Tax and Louie call it "summer camp".
11 years ago: "Much play time and some pool time too to cool off in this heat make for a great way to play while our parents are away"say the boys.
Summer is a great time to teach your pup to get out of the pool should they fall in playing with a friend or chasing a squirrel. Book your pool safety training with Jacqueline Gaillard at LA's Dog Trainer today!!

Louie and Tax sharing some play during the holiday weekend. Louie and Tax say, "It's fun when our family goes out of town. It means a little trip to LA's Dog Trainer's summer camp for some play." A good time was had by all!

The 4th of July may be an uncomfortable time for your pets. This is the holiday that is the busiest for shelters across the country as many dogs run away during the fireworks shows.
Here are some tips from Jacqueline Gaillard & LA's Dog Trainer to help your animals deal with the fireworks.
1. Keep your dog(s) & cat(s) inside the house.
2. Play music and/or the television louder than normal to help cover the sound of the fireworks.
3. Put them in a room that is the most interior of the house (no windows).
4. Closing curtains and blinds and/or covering windows if possible.
5. Aromatherapy works for animals also…have any lavender oil or Camomile?
6. Take your dog(s) for a very long walk just before the sun goes down to make them tired.
7. Give them something very yummy inside a kong or similar toy to keep them occupied.
8. Get calming treats from your favorite pet store - read the directions carefully - do not give them extra!
9. If your dog really freaks out you can ask your vet for a mild sedative, but try the other things before medicating your dog.
10. Make sure your pet has a microchip and that you have registered and/or updated your contact info with the microchip company.
11. Make sure their tags are legible, or get one for them if they don't have one.

Does this look like something you would like to do at work?
LA's Dog Trainer is looking for some great animal people to join our team.

Having animal AND office experience is mandatory.

11 yrs ago: Mixing and matching dogs and the places we go with them, keeps life interesting and fun for everyone. You never know who you will be meeting up with when you go out with Jacqueline Gaillard & LA's Dog Trainer.
Dogs need to be with dogs of different sizes, ages, and temperaments to keep up their social skills. All you need to know is that it will be a fun day.

Hike this week with Sasha, Riley IV, Tax, Jasper, and Riley in the Hollywood Hills. Going to different places keeps life interesting for you and your dogs.

10 years ago: Champagne and Caviar are learning to swim to the stairs and get out of the pool during their Board & Train with Jacqueline at LA's Dog Trainer.
Make sure an accident doesn't turn into a tragedy by having Jacqueline from LA's Dog Trainer teach your dog(s) to find the stairs and get out of your pool.
Dogs frequently fall in the pool while chasing squirrels or their buddies. Let's make it a safer place by teaching them how to get out should that happen.
