The most unique equine rescue in the country! If you are looking to add an Arabian to your home, please consider adopting or fostering one of our loving horses.
Although Saffyre Sanctuary is an all-breed rescue, we have a special place in our hearts to the plight and distinctive needs of the Arabian breed. We are one of very few rescue organizations that works with Arabians, and maintains a following of Arabian enthusiasts who are familiar with their unique disposition.

Thank you for the outpouring of generosity, love and support remembering our beloved Baskey. This is one of my favorite photos embodying his character.. I know many of you have more pics and videos with him. Seeing these brings much needed closure as we navigate this enormous void. Please post, share stories, and showcase your experience with him. It fills our hearts and I am sure he is grateful that he could touch so many lives.
It still doesn't seem real,...💔

It is with devastating news that we lost Baskey this week. Baskey, AKA The Professor, touched thousands of lives and was our very first rescue. He has left a hole in Saffyre Sanctuary that will be impossible to fill..
Contributions in his memory would be greatly appreciated. I know there will be many messages regarding our loss and his transition, but please give us time to honor our grieving process of this amazing soul. We will acknowledge everyone when we can. Thank you for your kindness and understanding. 🙏
Sending much love to all of you who touched our lives. 💔🌈🙏🦄

SAFFYRE SANCTUARY
REORG / RESET / RELAUNCH FUND
Saffyre Sanctuary has been quietly running in the background over the past few months. As many of you know our very first rescue horse, Baskey, was hospitalized for over 8 weeks this spring due to a very unfortunate circumstance (which had nothing to do with Saffyre, its programs, or protocols).
This left Saffyre in an urgent and unexpected dilemma; do we use our remaining funds to save Baskey and shut down, or do we euthanize Baskey and continue our operations as we have done for 15 years. We chose to save Baskey, and are pleased to report he made a full recovery and then some! He is healthy, sound and loving life!
We take the health and well-being of our horses very seriously, and they will always be our priority. As we know, the universe works in mysterious ways, and with that decision we handed over the future of Saffyre to it. What emerged was the need to temporarily shut down all of our operations, events, volunteer programs, and relinquish all of the sanctuary horses to the homes the universe lined up for them. But from the mud the lotus blooms, and we are anticipating to see what will grow from here.
We have known from the beginning that for any non-profit or rescue to be efficient, it must own its own property. From the ashes we will grow, and are currently in a process that will allow us to rebuild, relaunch, and partner with other sustainable organizations, so that our new foundation is built on a place of our own, ready to explore the infinite possibilities that the future holds. Saffyre is still alive, as we continue to offer our equine rehoming services, while maintaining a moderate overhead so that we can focus on where we need to be and how Saffyre will benefit all.
The new Saffyre Sanctuary will become a Global Center for Change – a space that will encompass all aspects of our worldwide compassionate and positive direction. During the next 24 months, we are kindly asking each and every one of our supporters to kindly assist us through donations, grants, major green capital investors, or any other means to help us sustain our corporation during this reorganization.
For my birthday wish this year – please assist donate to Saffyre, and support its long-held dream of changing the world, through infinite possibilities, pure intent, with compassion and love of all things. Together, the impact we will make over the next year will be amazing, but we can not do it without your support.
This fundraiser will run through the end of the year, combined with and year -end pledges. If you are unable to make a financial contribution, please consider writing a brief review here - https://greatnonprofits.org/reviews/write/saffyre-sanctuary-inc
We thank you in advance for allowing us to be of service for 15 years, and place over 100 senior nad special needs horses over this decade. We a greatly looking forward to at least another 15 years with your love, help, dedication and support.
With many blessings and heart-centered gratitude,
Esta

Bugs is the horse of a lifetime! This funny, personable, playful guy has the ability to make your horse dreams come true! Are you the type of person he is looking for?
Bugs has been loved and well-cared for by his current senior owner for the past two years. When he acquired Bugs, he was told he had much more trail experience than he actually had. Bugs is young, and it became very clear that he did not have enough training or trail confidence for a senior person. With Bug’s best interest at heart, he is wanting to find the perfect person who has the expertise, with the means to place him with a very compassionate trainer to overcome some typical obstacles indicative of an inexperienced horse. Bugs gets along with all horses and definitely is very eager to please and play!
Bugs is healthy, sound, up to date on everything, and has very nice ground manners. He can be a little mouthy and anxious as his curiosity and eagerness to be with people makes him quite the character. He has had more ground and arena work than trail experience, but with time and patience he will excel and blossom into who he is meant to be. The more he can be exposed to the better. He has been in a stall with an outside run and is comfortable in a roomy barn situation.
The only sad part of his story is that he does love his dad, and Bugs is confused as to why he has to find a new home. But the reality is Bugs is too much horse for him, and his dad loves him enough to want what is best for him to live his life to the fullest. He is super smart and very sweet, and this gorgeous guy would make a superb horse for a very experienced person. His adoption fee will reflect his worth, as he has many great years ahead of him, and he needs a person who is looking for a true permanent relationship with a sensitive soul, willing to develop a true relationship and be patient with his learning skills at a pace he is comfortable with.
Serious inquiries only – potential adopters will go through a full screening process, including references, site inspections, and assessment of personality compatibility.
Please contact Saffyre Sanctuary for more information. Adoption Fee applies for his safety.
