Vito is our little grandpa and he’s the spotlight for $5 Friday. He was abandoned at a homeless camp in Hollywood this past winter. He was left in a box unable to move. Katie from @hopeforpawsrescue went and picked him up. Turns out he was neutered and chipped. We repeatedly reached out to the “owner” and the emergency contact. Both numbers finally texted back saying that I had the wrong number and they didn’t have a dog or know the person listed as the owner. 🤔 He was weak, losing hair and under weight. He’s much better now and being a 14yo dog (based on the chip) - he’s probably going to be a lifer. He’s stronger, healthier, put on some weight and his hair has grown back but he’s still fragile. He’s safe with us. And we love him. ❤️☺️ Show him some love and support with a $5 donation. The last day of the year was spent picking up these two lucky dogs! (Took sound out to spare you from hearing by baby talk) Miss Ash - lab/shep mix, The Onion - chihuahua mix. Both recently saved by our friends at Hope For Paws and are now here with us where they will settle in and be up for adoption soon. Thank you to everyone that supports our work. Sister Wife & Big Daddy are now fixed, vaccinated, chipped, dewormed and were treated for piggy lice! Poor guys! We are now treating all the adults. Glad the vet caught that. Big Daddy - 85lbs! I had no idea Sister Wife - 73lbs! And she wasn’t pregnant! She had HUGE ovarian cysts, was going into heat and is just a good eater. 🤣 I had no idea they weighed that much! Pig update - 1st clip - mom and 5 babies 2nd clip - dad 3rd clip - pregnant, found separately (waiting to find out if she’s not too far along) Estimated costs for taking them in: $700 feed per month (8,400 yearly) $720 trims every 6 months (90ea) $4,800 (650x8) spay/neuter/vax/chip $220 transport (fuel cost) $400 materials (securing space) All assuming we can safely terminate the pregnancy of the teen mom piggy. Please comment or dm us if you can please some support. We need to round up more help before we can commit to pulling all of them. 😔🙏❤️🐷 And once they are all fixed, especially the babies, we will need help networking them to find forever homes. We rarely get piggies adopted. The last one that got adopted came back 3 years later. 😔 Thank you for caring. And thank you @felt_up for going to the shelter to meet them for us.

We are desperately trying to put a plan together to get some of these pigs. We need to get an idea on how much support/financial assistance we can count on. Please comment or message us if you can pledge. They are still in the shelter. We cannot move forward until we know how much help we can get. There are 3 adults (one of the females is pregnant) and 5 piglets who are still nursing. 😔 We are not asking for donations for them at this moment since they are not with us. It will be at least $650 each fix, vaccinate and chip. $700 a month to feed. Adopt Wolfgang or any of his 7 siblings. They are shepherd mixes, approx 4mo, fixed, well socialized, fixed, vaccinated, chipped and ready for their forever homes. They are probably going to be around 55-65lbs when fully grown. Very much a guardian breed, love to sleep at doorways and they snap to attention when they hear a “new” voice or a strange noise. They’re friendly but curious and they naturally want to guard and notify. Peach has come a long way but she’s still got some emotional baggage and she really needs a human that will be very patient with her. Skinny Pete - One lucky feral cat enjoying mountain life. This guy was saved by our friends at Hope For Paws last year. He saw a sad bag of bones and he was dragging a broken leg. The leg was not salvageable. We kept him contained while he healed and he was SO HAPPY when he was able to go outside. He’s made some friends, has a routine, it’s safe to say he’s settled in and enjoying life. We even saw him playing (not trying to kill) a baby ground squirrel. So cute! Lots of snow days lately. The dogs are loving it! Ziva (2yo, female, white/tan collie mix), Sunny (3yo, male cattle dog), Rosemary (6mo, female, cow print, supermutt) & Paprika (6mo, female, white w/ black, supermutt) were all saved by our friends at Hope For Paws and being fostered through us. Meet them all this Sunday at our weekly adoption event at Tailwaggers Larchmont 10:30-1:30. Ziva has really come a long way. She was living in a field, abandoned, scared and confused.
