To one of our three original shop dogs, Rocco. ❤️

We can’t believe it’s the end of an era. An era where you come to work, play with Owen and Andy, bask in sunspots, meet new OHD dogs, insist on Andy being moved from the bed so you can lay in the place you want to lay on, insist on snacks, nap in a cuddle puddle, have 4:30 zoomies, and then trot out our doors… and do it all again the next day and the next day.

For our first several years, you were every OHD big dog’s first friend. 🐶 OHD is what it is today because of you and we can’t thank you enough for that. 🐾

Our goal is to help every dog live its best life just like you did. It’s a lofty goal because you lived a damned good one, but we’ll try our very best.

Congratulations to two little kiddos today, Bruce and Lisbon! 👏🏼 Little Bruce (first pic) is graduating out of our Transitional Daycare Program. 💕🥳 Not all pups are built to just waltz into group play daycare and many of them need to take things a little more slowly and gently with us right next to them to hold their, er, paws through it. 🥹🐾 Swipe to see baby Lisbon who just started her first day of the Transitional Program today! 🙌🏼 Our goals are always to build a bond and foundation of trust with the pups first and then move into hanging out with other dogs. 🐶 Being away from your parents in a new building is sometimes not the easiest thing so we want them to know that we are super rad people who just want to be nice and make them happy! 💞

We recently got some devastating health news about one of our shop dogs, Rocco. 🐮 He is our manager Lisa’s dog and is one of every big OHD dog’s first friends because he helps us with evaluating new dogs. To say that OHD wouldn’t be who we are without him is an understatement. ❤️ After navigating a whirlwind of emotions, we are doubling down on what we do best here: helping dogs live their best lives. 💞 As we face what the next months bring us, we will be focusing on Rocco’s joy. 🙌🏼 You know what makes him happy? Greeting dogs. 🐶 And you know what makes him even happier?
