As we reflect on all the blessings of the season, we are filled with gratitude for the amazing support our community has shown throughout the year. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve been able to provide care, love, and shelter to so many rabbits in need.
We’re also thrilled to share that our recent campaign to raise funds for the shelter’s essentials was a resounding success, with an incredible turnout from our community. Your contributions ensure that we can continue our work and provide the best for our furry friends.

The story: One of our recent shelter pulls, Opal, surprised us all when we found 9 newborn babies nested in her hidey box. Well it wasn’t that much of a surprise. Opal came to us as another bunny that was given only a day to be pulled from the city shelter or she’d be euthanized. She had already been nesting at that point, but the shelter attributed the hair loss to a health condition. So BunnyLuv pulled her only to find that the hair loss was her being a great mom and building a nest. More often than not, however, unspayed bunnies will go through a false pregnancy, and Opal was not showing that she was carrying 9 babies. But we let her do her thing, making sure not to disturb her lovely nest work of hay in her hidey box. Then one morning we noticed she had piled in A LOT of fur to her nest. Lo and behold, tucked underneath were 9, surprisingly large baby buns!

Easter is here and we need to talk about “Easter Bunnies”. For years, live rabbits have been gifted for Easter and for years they have been dumped outside or in a shelter before their 1st birthday. Most people don’t know how high maintenance these cute pets are and are not ready for the 10-13 year commitment. Live animals are not gifts! Reach out to us at BunnyLuv to learn more about what it takes to care for a bunny and choose to gift a chocolate or stuffed bunny to your child this Easter.
We wanted to take a moment to let you know how thankful we are to have such a supportive community! BunnyLuv has so much to be grateful for beginning with our volunteers who take time out of their day to benefit the bunnies at our shelter.
We are also beyond humbled by the incredible support we receive during our fundraisers to cover spay and neuter costs for buns waiting to go home, and recently it's given our rescue, Liza, the best chance to a better life!
We wish you and your family nothing but the best this Thanksgiving and throughout the holiday season.
