Chicago Stockyard Saddle Tree & Leather Works

Chicago Stockyard Saddle Tree & Leather Works We make trees that are affordable, strong, light and adjustable. Ride a Lite-Ride and save a tree! Th Quality wood is becoming increasingly hard to come by.

Demands and restrictions to tanneries across the US have caused
the price of rawhide to go up. Rawhide covered trees are prone to warping and breaking due to the nature of the materials
used. The cost of these products will only increase, and, eventually, they will be unattainable. But with CSST’s remarkable
applications to today’s technologies, the strongest saddle tree on the market has been

created. Chicago Stockyard Saddle Tree(CSST) is a brand-new company created with the intention of overcoming the traditional
problems with saddle trees. We are dedicated to helping to ease the burden placed upon the saddle maker by standard
wooden trees. As our name implies, we are a Chicago based company. Central location in the US is essential for our goal of changing the
horse industry. As horse riders ourselves we felt a need to better the riding experience for us, others and the entire equine
industry. For over two hundred years the traditional saddle tree has been wood covered in rawhide. The process of building
one of these wood/rawhide trees can take from 6-7 weeks to 1 year. Our product, the Lite-Ride tree is a revolutionary design in that it nullifies the issues of using wood and rawhide trees. The Lite-Ride is created out of a high density urethane that is poured not injected into the molding. This eliminates any
weak points from the injection sites, while still allowing for a consistent shape. The polyurethane that we use has a test
strength of over 3000 PSI, guaranteeing plenty of strength. Even with all that durability the Lite-Ride is still a semi-rigid
tree to help flex with the movement of the horse and unlike other “plastic” trees it is not prone to snapping.

I have three CB 12” Associations, 16 seats, #4 horns, 4x12 cantles for sale.
I’m still making saddle trees. This has not been a good year and a half for me. And I appreciate those of you who have stuck with me through this trying time. I am trying to finish up the new molds because I was able to finally get the correct material and it’s time for the molds to be resurfaced. My goal is to get the other molds done so I can stop doing hand-build modifications. I have three CB12” Associations 16 seats, #4 horns, 4x12 cantles. One has a cable for 500$. The other two do not for 450$. If you’re interested in one of them please private message me.
Those of you still waiting. I promise you I’m trying to get to them. Once the molds are done the turnaround time will come down to pre covid times and hopefully shorter. I am still marking the other orders. These trees are to help me get more mold material in. Thank you for helping me get back on track!
Changes you will see. The angle of the cable is lowered. There are centering lines and marks on the fork and on the cantle and in the seat.
