Petra the Pittie NEEDS a home!!🩷

Repost
Ken adopted 3 yrs old Petra and another beauty called Sparkles (in need also and to be posted soon!) in order to save their lives a few hours before their euthanasia deadlines, when no one came, from North Central. His hope was to give them life, love, and a beautiful future with someone.
🫶We need everyone’s help to get Petra (and Sparkles) seen so their people can find them!🙏

Things we are learning about Petra since leaving the shelter:

She absolutely loves to have fun, whatever you’re doing she wants to join in. We went to Starbucks after she had a very long walk, but she still had the energy to explore and was so excited to be outside.

She absolutely loves car rides.

She loves to say hi to people, we’re still not sure about her sociability with other dogs, so we’re going to have a trainer meet with her (she is, however, non- reactive on walks).

Potty trained, no separation anxiety.

Since she’s in the back room of Ken’s house because he has to separate his two little reactive dogs, she’s alone very much of the day 🫤 so we’re looking for a person or a family who is waiting to have such a funny and loving character in their life.

Please reach out to on Instagram Or email [email protected] for more info about a meet and greet!
Petra is being fostered in Los Angeles.

Handsome 17 months old husky Jack Frost ☃️recently went off a “dog day out” with a volunteer! And what a fun day for this very good boy!

Jack Frost has been waiting at the shelter since July when he came in as a stray, he spent this Christmas in a kennel, help him spend his new year (and on) in a home! Visit to meet him!

Volunteer Farah took Jack Frost to Griffith Park and Spoke Cafe 🚲. He was great riding in the car, enjoyed sniffing out the window and tried to sneak some kisses before laying down. ☺️ In the park he enjoyed rolling around in the grass and playing with toys. Quickly warmed up to a male stranger he was meeting for the first time. At the cafe he was non-reactive to people, bikes and children walking by. We saw a few dogs throughout the day that he perked up at upon seeing but didn’t react any further, including a small dog at the cafe. Throughout the day he stayed connected and was always looking for that next treat by showing how he can sit, paw and lay down. 🤩👏

Meet Sophie! We have fallen in love with her and we would love to help her exit the shelter, but we need a committed foster!

While she came into the shelter nervous, but thanks to some amazing volunteers Sophie has blossomed into the life of the party and is now our playful, playgroup boss❤️

Sophie is 6 years old, a healthy 73lbs and spayed. We suspect she’d be med-low energy. Fill out a foster form through the link at dogcoalitionla.org bio to see if she may be a match for you! We will guide you from there with support, training, and promotion through to adoption!

Alan has left the shelter on foster!
Lucky guy got to head home with one of the team members⭐️
He’s been a playgroup regular while at the shelter and we are all relieved to see this softy exit!
Alan is around 1.5 years old and 50lbs.
We look forward to learning more about him in weeks to come. Today he shakes off that shelter stress and sleeps indoors.

Special thanks to North Central’s Life Saving Liaisons for all your help and support in getting these dogs out!

Adoptable Missy needs a home in time for the holidays! ❤️
She’s a 7-year-old petite husky looking for a foster or adopter! She’s crate-trained, walks well on a leash, and thrives with structure. Missy is smart, mischievous, friendly, and affectionate—a true husky (husky experience not required but a plus)!

She had to leave her previous foster due to resident cats not being a fan, and with the holidays, we’re struggling to find her a place.

If you can foster Missy, please fill out a foster form dogcoalitionla.org. Interested in adopting? DM us or (on IG) today!

Penelope came into the shelter as a stray in July. She is a sweet little husky girl who loves fetch, treats, belly rubs and playing ‘chase me’!
She has done well in play group, volunteers say she is soft, polite, and playful and does well in soft groups. She has also been tested with a small dog and was polite. Slow intros always recommended.

Penelope has the cutest puppy energy, is a major wiggle-wompus, and an all around sweet girl who needs an active home and someone to show her the ropes. She has spent the better part of her puppyhood in a loud scary shelter and volunteers would love to see her safe and sound in a home.

If you are her person, hurry on in. She can’t wait to meet you!

Penelope is also available to foster through the shelter via dogcoalitionla.org.

Art by
Adopter or foster will receive her 4 x 6 framed portrait.

Kai has left the shelter on foster! So happy for this delightful gal. She’s been a rockstar in shelter playgroups and lovely and affectionate with all she’s spent time with while at the shelter. She’s around 3 years old and 60lbs. Thank you Maggie and family for stepping up for this prize. We look forward to learning more about her in weeks to come. Tonight she sleeps in a home💕

SWEET DOUGIE NEEDS A HERO to adopt or rescue him from North Central Los Angeles Shelter where he’s been placed on the URGENT LIST for kennel stress.

This sensitive and VERY affectionate boy is having a hard time coping with a life primarily confined to a cement kennel within the chaos of the shelter environment.

He is one of my very favorite dogs at North Central—myself and other volunteers are pulling for him to find his human before his stress escalates and he is placed on the euthanasia list.

PLEASE SHARE—Share to your stories and tag SoCal friends, dog lovers and rescues in those stories.

Dougie ID is 1.5 yrs old, 53lbs, and recently neutered. He is a sweet, submissive and gentle soul who really blossoms outside his kennel. He takes treats gently, enjoys running around, lying about and LOVES getting pets and affection from volunteers.

He’s been in playgroups and shown himself to be very tolerant of even the most rambunctious dogs. His submissive nature means that he deserves a home with a calm, patient and very kind human that will work with him to build his confidence and earn his trust. What he doesn’t deserve: a home with loud, impatient and punitive personalities and energy.

Ask me any questions you have

Visit North Central to adopt him!

Please share! Pledge towards rescue! Offer to foster for Rescue! 🙏💞

MINNIE is an affectionate and ridiculously cute 3yo, 50lb pittie in foster care with in LOS ANGELES. Spayed, up to date on vaccines, crate trained and house broken. She’s an energetic little cuddle bug who loves to give kisses and make new friends!
