We’re taking the month of December “off” to rest and work on some other important rescue projects. We know folks want to adopt around the holidays because of the extended time at home, but we won’t be doing any Christmas time adoptions this year.

‘‘Twas The Night Before Christmas SCGPR Version”

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the tv stand with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

Most of the guinea pigs were nestled all snug in their cuddle beds ,
While visions of cilantro danced in their heads;

Foster mamma in her sweats, ready to call it a wrap, suddenly mutters “one more cage to clean before I can get a nap”

Eventually foster mama was ready for bed, and visions of clean cages danced in her head.

Suddenly out in the yard there arose such a clatter,
She sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

When, what to her wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny piggy reindeer
There was a little old driver, so lively and quick,
She knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
He whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, Copper! now, Tater Tot! now, Squid and Tim!
On, Bigsby! on Dublin on, Nova and Peanut!
To the top of the hay stack,to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

So up to the house-top the cavy’s they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys and St. Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, she heard on the roof
The waddling and wheeking of each little floof .
As she drew in her hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney they all came with a bound.
They were fuzzy and furry, with cute little snoots, she really just wanted to give them all a “boop”

They spoke not a word, just wheeks and squeaks instead.
And she knew she had better go get treats from the fridge before bed.
They filled all the stockings; then jumped with wheeks, she knew just then they were ready for those treats.
After their snacks, Dublin placed his paw aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney they rose;
They sprang to their sleigh, gave a wheek and whistle,
And foster mom hoped they had left her a bissell
She heard them exclaim as they drove out of sight,
WHEEK WHEEK WHEEK!!!!
Which we think meant, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!
