I’m officially adoptable/ fosterable through West LA Animal Shelter!

Hi friends! This week Wagyu will be surrendered to West LA animal shelter. After contacting many rescue networks, friends, and people around the community, we were unable to find a forever home for him in the past 6 months.

Many rescue groups turned us away or were hostile that we rescued him without intent to permanently home him. People didn’t consider him in need of a home because from the outside he WAS rescued and had a great life. So many other amazing dogs are being put down every day and in real need.

Ultimately, the shelter will be better equipped to put him a forever home. Wagyu is incredibly special and we love him dearly. His presence has given us so much. We nursed him back to health and Buddha helped socialize him to being loving and playful with other dogs. Thank you all again for your support!

ABOUT ME:
Name: Wagyu
Age: ~1.5 years
Breed: Mixed Australian cattle dog
Weight: A skinny 60lb
Health: Good; un-neutered (SO FAR!)
Likes: Fetch, walks, beach
Dislikes: Aggressive humans and dogs

- Actually OK with being left alone during the day!
- Should be in a home without small children
- Ideally an only dog or homed with a well-socialized dog
- Learning to walk with gentle leader so he doesn't pull
- Hasn't interacted a lot with cats as far as we know
- Well-behaved and knows several commands and tricks

BACK STORY:
- Adopted from a kill shelter in Downey 10/20/2023
- Shy and anxious especially around aggressive people and dogs
- No longer has kennel cough or any health issues
- Vaccine record can't be located, however he had the necessary vaccines to leave the shelter
