John Wick was released in 2014, followed by two sequels, on February 11, 2017, and May 17, 2019, respectively, including John Wick: Chapter 2 and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. With a combined worldwide box office of nearly $587 million, these three films were critically and publicly acclaimed. John Wick: Chapter 4, the fourth installment, is currently in pre-production and is scheduled for release on May 27, 2022. A fifth installment is also in development and will be shot concurrently with the fourth film in 2021.
John Wick is on the run, hunted by a $14 million open contract on his life for breaking a fundamental rule: killing someone on the grounds of the Continental Hotel. The victim, Santino D'Antonio (Riccardo Scamarcio), was a member of the Head Table, the organization that ordered the open contract.
