She first encouraged me to get involved working with animal shelters and rescues while she was in second grade and had heard about dogs sometimes needing new homes and people sometimes needing help taking care of a dog. She has grown up witnessing the impact even a small effort can make in the life of another person or animal, even in a short animal communication session which I started offering over 15 years ago. “Yes, it takes time getting used to a home transitioning from the passing of a family member, even a dog. For us, Teddy sends signs and we notice them frequently. But we also find ourselves exhausted and napping more deeply, even our bodies adjusting to an energetic shift of sorts without Teddy being physically here. Thank you again for all the support. Honey on her first walk without Teddy. Surprisingly she was loving it. I watched her happily explore, sniff, and take it all in. Our dogs handle grief in many ways. They all come to terms with the “new normal” so differently. Perhaps it’s their way of guiding us through it. First morning walk with our weekly dog walker since Teddy crossed the rainbow bridge. Opened the door to find the moth waiting for us. Stayed until Honey and Wolfgang left with Frank. Moth climbed onto my phone and stared at me with his yellow eyes that reminded me of Teddy. So patient and beautiful. Did not seem injured, more as if learning how to fly. Teddy update: He’s still a bit out of it because of the stroke, and still does not have an appetite. I helped him out to the yard, and he enjoyed being brushed as he lay on his cushion in the sun.
