The full video of the whole rescue operation will be ready soon but here is a little taste of what we were up against.
The pig at the front of the thumbnail image has a bad bumble foot and is pregnant. She is now safe and getting the treatment she needs!! ๐๐๐
The lack of babies and younger pigs was a sad indication that these animals were in extreme danger. I was told some were also killed by cars because the road was right there. And then there are Racoons, Hawks, Owls, dogs and cats. You name it. So blessed that we are able to offer them safety and lots of love ofcourse.
Thank you all for being such a loving and compassionate community. Your support is vital because without it this rescue would not have been possible. ๐๐๐

Update on Big Mama's Surgery
Big mama was surrendered with a heck of a nasty mammary gland tumor that will kill her unless she gets surgery. She is a the vet right now getting this surgery done. Her previous vet told the owner that it was a cyst but sadly that is no cyst. (watch the video to see what it looks like) Just this month we have done 2 more surgeries like these on lady pigs. It saves them and adds years to a life. Big mama has another 4 good years ahead with the surgery. We don't ask often but surgeries are big bad beasts eating away at our budget and we must at times ask for our guinea pig family's help. Today is is such a day.
I was able to make a deal and the surgery cost will come to $600 - $700 A very good price here in LA. If we raise more than that it will go toward future surgeries. Thank you my loving guinea pig family. Without you this place would not be. ๐๐๐

Six days later the two babies born the day the fires started are doing so very well! I made a little update on this precious family for you so they can continue to spread love, light, and new beginnings.๐๐
WE OFFER FREE BOARDING ๐๐ for those affected by the fires. We sadly have guinea pigs here now whose families have lost their homes. We will continue to take great care of them until the time you can take them back.
UPDATE on the rescue - For now, we still continue to be ok. No fires have broken out in our area, though strong winds are predicted. and we are located in a high-danger zone. As I write this, I hear one of those heavy water planes go over. My heart skips a few beats now with every ambulance, plane, and fire department sound.
If you want to help us care for the evacuees and help with our regular crew, you are so very welcome to do so. We heavily rely on donations to keep the wheels running here.
Mama Guinea Pig Giving Birth
As fires are raging in Los Angeles a little miracle happened at the same time. This precious rescued mama gave birth to two perfect little baby munchkins. I managed to catch the tail end and thought it to be a perfect share to put out some content that is positive, full of light, love and new beginnings.
UPDATE - the ongoing fires are not near the ranch, so for now, we are safe. unless our situation changes, we are open as usual.
