The REAL Bark is proudly known as a Non-Profit Rescue that takes on the most difficult of cases. The Paralyzed, and Traumatized have a safe spot with us as we do lengthy rehabilitation with a regular rotating number of special ‘Project Pups.’

From the streets and shelters of Los Angeles, to International dogs in dire need, we humbly – and for years – have been taking discarded, abused, and forgot

ten lives into our own – healing them – and gently placing them back on a path toward a NEW Protected + Celebrated Life. The “REAL” in our Team name stands for:
RESPONSIBLE – ETHICAL – ANIMAL – LEAGUE.

IT’S NEVER BEEN HARDER HERE IN LA. The FACTS + numbers are brutal …and after some 20 years dedicating our ALL to Life-Saving, it is a challenge to scrape together the Financial & Emotional resources, currently, to cover VETTING for so many medical cases.
We honestly are NOT able to do that without your support. Trust: We DO NOT want to stop.
Everyone LOVES the Rescue Story & then the Happy Ending….but the IN BETWEEN is what you do not see, and trust me, friend, it is all uphill. With medical cases, there is often months of vet care before that kid will START looking for an adoptive home.
So, please, know that ANY/EVERY dollar you send goes RIGHT TO the vetting and care of these beings that have been failed…or, sadly, worse.
We will keep showing up and fighting for Joy & Justice for these beautiful souls like Cabin and THOUSANDS of others.

🌈💫 HE FOUGHT. WE FOUGHT FOR HIM. WE LOATHE THAT SOMETIMES THAT IS NOT ENOUGH.
We are still numb at losing this sweet, beautiful boy. The disease went too deep, and we are grateful for the few days he was feeling better and got to be like a puppy, before the parvo surged back and took him from us.
THANK YOU to those of you sending LOVE his way…and for helping his cause.
We are NOT people that want to hear ANY of our elected or appointed officials tell us “there is no problem in our streets for animals.” That in Skid Row and similar houseless communities, that ‘intervention is not needed.’
F___ O____. We have thousands and THOUSANDS of dollars in bills for this baby - and several others just from the last few weeks - that say those denying are full of s**t - and you need to quiet your mouth - and instead immerse yourself - and address this crisis.

GoodNight little Shea Butter. Brave Boy. Though just a kid, Shea was a most skilled Pilot, as he flew into our lives for help, recently, one fateful day…and after too short a visit, he flew himself HOME, where pain & challenge would never bother him again.
We will keep our eyes upward, lil buddy, and find you soaring through the heavens.

🚨MORE VICTIMS FROM THE STREETS: PLEASE HOLD A GOOD THOUGHT - HOPING HE SURVIVES. Yes, as talk continues about the too many dogs that are used on the street as commerce, neglected, or worse…We are ALL waiting for the city to step up…BUT in the interim there ARE victims. Daily. And we do our best. Out running errands, one of the team happened upon a houseless person with two other dogs, and holding this beautiful, sick, limp pup. He handed it over to her, and Carla rushed to the vet. Parvo positive, every parasite known, covered in dozens of ticks & fleas, this poor babe was being drained…anemic, emaciated, and failing. He’s now on an IV. SO YES, we are needing help for his medical. PLEASE. It can be anything…$3, $5, whatever. It can add UP - because trust our Street Rescue vet bills are. Just like the many we have saved from the streets these last weeks also with Parvo, the plan is to keep them ALIVE, get on the wellness road, then secure foster, and a way forward.
There are rescues that don’t f with Street Rescue. We know the shelters are bursting - we are there too - and everyone is maxed…but the streets require so MUCH advocacy and Life-Saving right now. Thank You, friend. PLEASE SHARE.
