PAW REHAB was first created in May 2015 and officially opened its doors to the first patient on February 1st, 2016! Our first patient was actually Dr. Bak’s beloved pet named Apple (who also happens to be our logo inspiration!) Our first client/patients were George and Bella, who were seen on February 2nd and 3rd. Since then, we are now approaching almost 2,400 patients over the years. 🐱🐶

🎄🐾 Pet Safety Tips for the Holidays! 🐾🎄

As we deck the halls and prepare for festive celebrations, it’s important to keep our furry friends safe from potential hazards. Here are some essential tips for food, ornaments, and decorations:

1. Food Safety:
- Avoid sharing holiday treats like chocolate, onions, and grapes, which can be toxic to pets. Stick to pet-safe snacks! 🍫🚫
- Secure trash cans to prevent your pets from scavenging leftover food. 🗑️🐕

2. Ornament & Decoration Caution:
- Hang ornaments higher on the tree to prevent curious paws from swatting them down! 🎄🐾
- Use pet-safe decorations and avoid tinsel, yarn, or small ornaments that could be a choking hazard. ✨⚠️

3. Holiday Plants:
- Be cautious with holiday plants like poinsettias, mistletoe, and lilies, as they can be harmful to pets. Opt for pet-safe decorations instead! 🌿🚫
- Prevent pets from drinking water of fresh cut trees, as it is toxic

4. Lights and Cords:
- Keep electrical cords and light strings out of reach to prevent chewing and potential shock hazards. 💡⚡

By keeping these tips in mind, we can ensure a safe and joyful holiday season for all! 🐾 ❤️

"I would give 10 stars if I could. Dr. Bak and all the staff are great. My dog has been going for a couple of months for twice-weekly treatment of arthritis and I'm so happy with the results. It took a few weeks (for my dog) to see results and it is expensive but that is what pet insurance is for. I'm 100% satisfied and highly recommend them. Paying up front was rather convenient, actually. Then drop off and pick ups are fast and easy."

🐾 Pet Arthritis Awareness: Let’s Keep Those Joints Healthy! 🐾

We want to shed light on this common condition affecting many of our furry friends. Arthritis can cause pain and discomfort, making it difficult for pets to enjoy their daily activities.

Here are some signs to look out for:
- Difficulty getting up or lying down
- Reluctance to walk, run, or jump
- Limping or favoring one leg
- Changes in behavior or decreased activity
- Slow or stiff during their walks

🌟 Tips for Supporting Joint Health:
1. Maintain a Healthy Weight: Extra pounds can put additional strain on joints.
2. Regular Low-Impact Exercise: Gentle walking, underwater treadmill and swimming are great options to keep joints flexible. Please contact your veterinarian on your pets activity level.
3. Joint Supplements: Talk to your vet about the benefits of supplements like glucosamine and omega fatty acids.
4. Comfortable Living Spaces: Provide soft bedding and easy access to favorite resting spots.

If you suspect your pet may be suffering from arthritis, don’t hesitate to reach out for a consultation. Together, we can enhance their comfort and quality of life! 💚
