First, we want to reassure everyone that despite the devastating fires and extreme conditions affecting California, we and the animals at Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation (LBWF) are safe. Our hearts go out to those impacted by these disasters, and we continue to send our thoughts and prayers to all in harm’s way.

We are deeply grateful for the messages of love and well wishes we’ve received during this frightening time. Your kindness and compassion mean the world to us and remind us of the incredible community standing behind our work.

Currently, LBWF is home to 100 dogs. Many were rescued from overcrowded shelters where their lives were at risk. Others were brought to safety after being found in perilous situations worsened by harsh winds and weather. Every single one of these dogs has a name, a story, and a chance at a better life because of your support.

While we are managing, caring for this many animals requires daily feeding, cleaning, and medical care. Volunteers are urgently needed to help with these essential tasks. If you can lend your time, please join us. Your hands make a direct difference.

In honor of Linda Blair’s birthday, we’ve launched a special fundraiser to help secure a brighter future for LBWF. Linda’s health has been severely impacted by desert winds and dangerous allergens, making relocation and expansion to Oregon essential for her well-being and the foundation’s future. This fundraiser also helps us meet the ongoing daily needs of caring for 100 dogs, including food, water delivery, and medical expenses. Jan 9, 2025 Update:
The devastation from these fires is beyond comprehension. Thousands of homes have been lost, and an enormous number of animals have perished—many of them unreported. Pets like dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, and rabbits, along with larger animals in areas like the Palisades—donkeys, horses, goats, sheep, and chickens—succumbed to smoke inhalation. This tragedy is truly unimaginable.

I am taking power naps when I can while my crew and I remain on the ground. A good neighbor monitors the 14 Freeway, and we track all the fire alerts and apps. We are on high alert, but currently safe. We know where to watch for potential threats. The winds are brutal. While we have faced worse conditions, the extreme dryness and fire danger make this situation more perilous.

I ask for your continued prayers. We’ve taken in many strays escaping through broken fences and brought in foster dogs from evacuation zones and families leaving California. Your donations are critical—they help provide food, water, and the supplies we need. We just received another shipment of water. Even though we are without power and relying on generators, we have access to much-needed water for the dogs.

If you’ve seen our fundraiser for my birthday and this emergency, we have explained why it is vital—for my health and the welfare of the animals—that we relocate to a safer environment where we can continue rescuing and expand our educational programs.

As we all know, the world feels heavy right now, and it's not as jolly as we wish it could be. Times are hard for so many, and it’s heartbreaking to see the struggles that people and animals face every day here in America.

Across the country, rescues like ours are overwhelmed. Shelters are overflowing, and countless animals are being abandoned, left to face an uncertain future. Each day, we fight to save as many lives as we can—to bring joy, love, and hope to every dog we rescue. But it’s not enough.

Meet Harry and Sally. These two precious bonded angels were found sitting in the middle of the street just one year ago. They’ve come so far since then—so kind, so appreciative of the love and safety they now have. They thank the LBWF family for giving them a chance and beg for your help to spread the word.

We can’t do this alone. We need your help to keep going. Your support means everything—whether it’s sharing our mission, donating, or spreading hope. To everyone who has given already: thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. But we need so much more.

December 8, 1967 – The Beatles: Magical Mystery Tour (E.P.) is released.

In the U.K. the "Magical Mystery Tour" soundtrack was released in the UK as a special double E.P. package on December 8, 1967. It entered the UK charts on December 13, and spent 12 weeks in the top 40. Its highest chart position was #2 on the singles chart, the dedicated EP chart having been abandoned at the start of December 1967. It was held off the top spot by The Beatles' own Hello, Goodbye. It contained two 3 track E.P.'s and was advertised as being complete with; "A 32 page full colour book packed with exclusive pictures, a strip cartoon of the original story, plus the words to the songs in the show!"

Originally scheduled for release on December 1st, the EP release was delayed one week because EMI was overwhelmed with 400,000 advance orders. The main hold-up was the book, which was more difficult to reprint than the pressing of additional records. With the extra time, EMI was able to press 750,000 copies for initial release.

Musically, the most interesting fact is that it included the Beatles first instrumental, "Flying". Which was also the first track to list all four names as joint writers. "Magical Mystery Tour" was also the first Beatle E.P. to be issued in Mono AND stereo, and the mono version is now deleted.

The world premiere broadcast of the Magical Mystery Tour film was by BBC-1 on December 26th - shown in black and white and seen by more than 13 million viewers. The film was viciously attacked by the press, declaring it a mighty flop. The Daily Express called it blatant "rubbish," The Daily Mail "It's colossal, the conceit of the Beatles" and the Daily Mirror declared it "chaotic." Paul responded and stated that "We could easily have assembled a team of experts and asked them to come up with a first class show for Christmas which would star the Beatles, but that would have been easy. We wanted to try and do it ourselves, and we were expecting criticism. but nothing quite as bad as we got. The mistake was that too many people were looking for a plot when there wasn't one. It was just a series of unconnected events which we thought would be interesting or humorous or just pleasant to watch." In all, the Beatles shot 6 hours worth of film, edited down to less than 60 minutes.

The last EP ever released by the Beatles was a matter of expediency. The chaotic production of the Magical Mystery Tour movie had not yielded enough music to fill more than one side of an LP, but too much for an extended play single. There was so much money tied up in the production -- due to air over British television on December 26, 1967 -- that it had to be exploited and supported with a record release. So EMI released a double-EP set in England that wasn't much more coherent (in the most literal sense of that word's root) than the movie to which it was attached creatively (but a lot more fun). The record was a hit in the U.K., although for U.S. release, where EPs had never sold well, Capitol grabbed up the group's recent singles and B-sides plus the orphaned late-1966 single "Penny Lane" and "Strawberry Fields Forever" to make a full LP, which was issued many years later in England as well. The EP was enjoyable if a bit discursive (big surprise given the nature of the movie project and the recreational drugs involved), and seemed to lack a little stature given its short running time, but the six tracks were as fascinating as anything the group had ever released.

December 5, 2024 – A Remarkable Milestone

18 years ago, Linda Blair made a promise. 🐾 She vowed to dedicate two years of her life to saving animals in need—a commitment born from love, compassion, and a deep desire to make a difference.

What started as a two-year mission became 18 years of unwavering devotion. Through heartbreaking losses, incredible triumphs, and endless challenges, Linda has never given up on her promise to the animals. Every rescue, every tail wag, every second chance is a reflection of her resilience and love.
