Know what you’re buying. This picture has store beef(left), and farm beef(right). There is an obvious visible difference between the two! But the differences don’t stop there!

1. You may notice in the picture the color difference. The store bought is pumped full of additives and water. There isn’t a guarantee of where that beef came from either. Yes, it may have USDA label on it but as long as that animal was packaged in the US, it can be called a Product of the USA. The meat in the package is not from one single cow, rather scraps from multiple cows. It could have came from Argentina, Canada, or Brazil.

2. The beef on the right is darker and is farm raised beef. It is filled with more nutrients & flavor. The ground is also from one cow and not just scraps from multiple cows.

3. Buying your beef from a local Farmer/Rancher you are helping to buy a little girl dance shoes or a little boy baseball gear. Buying from the store just lines the pockets of the already wealthy meat packers. Let’s help each other. We help you eat healthy, you help us provide for our families.

Buy from a local ranch/farm!

Borrowed from another farm.

This is why we buy local beef!

The arena is offcially usable. It is a huge 100 x 200 feet. We are so excited to finally have an awesome arena to work the horses in.

We have found 6 little kittens that a stray cat that thinks she lives at our ranch has had. The kittens are approx 5 weeks old. They are already using the potty box and eating kitten food and drinking water. If you would like an adorable kitten please let me know. 3 are black and white and 3 are gray and white.

We are making improvements. Yipee, finally a fridge in the tack room. BUT, the best change of all is the new arena that it currently under construction. It's going to be 100 X 200. We are so excited to have an arena that we can practice jumping in or barrels or whatever your passion is.

Well finally Jack Jack has a new home and has been there for over 2 weeks and is doing very well and very loved. Now let's help find Cutie Pie a home. She would love a home with kids. She is the white dog with the black spots and patch over the left eye.

Enjoying the beautiful weather today.

Horses are loving it, sun is out, lots to eat now in the pasture. It was a great weekend with plenty of sun up at our ranch. We rode and even washed a few horses.

This is the little adorable stray that showed up at our ranch a couple of weeks ago. She is available for adoption. Sweet as can be. Loves people. Ok with cats, curious but not evil. Not sure about horses and ok with dogs as long as they're not trying to kill her. She needs a new family to love her.

12/21/2010

We have picked up another stray (well she wandered onto our ranch). Very sweet white doge with dalmation spots and a black patch over one eye. She's approx 6-9 mo. old and sweet as can be. Make her Christmas a happy one and adopt her. I will post a pict. soon.

Sure wish the sun would come out. Raegan has friends over and they want to ride. Hopefully will have pictures to post later today.

Well bad thing about the rain is too cold and wet to ride but the good news is everything is turning beautiful and green here at the ranch.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. It's beautiful day to take your horse out for a ride. A little cool but just bundle up and it'll be fun. We're considering going out riding her at our place. :)

Interested in adopting a new dog? Months ago a small sweet dog showed up at our place. It took him 2 weeks to finally trust me and now he has lived here for months. However, he really does need a new permanent home. Anyone interested in meeting him just let me know.

Beautiful day outside today. Have a great Monday.

Well with wonderful weather comes wonderfully fun horse back riding. Me and the kids all rode around the ranch yesterday and my daughter and I had a nice 2 hr. ride off the ranch today. Stitch was a perfect angel, loving him more and more & of course Raegans horse Deperado is always perfect.

Went to see the movie Secretariat yesterday on opening day. INCREDIBLE movie, even if you don't care for horses you'll love it but for those of us who love the beautiful animals the movie is awesome. I was sitting on the edge of my seat in the theatre during the big races in the movie. SO GOOD, a definate must see.

Finally had time today to take Rosa out for a quick ride. She's a funny horse. A perfect angel as we leave the other horses and have a nice quiet ride around the ranch. But the moment it was time to head back she stops and refuses to move forward, turn her to leave she goes. Hmmm, was she trying to tell me something?? Finally we made it back, gave her a much needed bath. Horses can just make everything ok.

09/08/2010

Fall is here, finally. Nice cooler temps to ride. Hope to get some of the horses out for a ride this week.

Fun places to take your horses for a ride, I'll post one every now and then. This coming weekend last year I took my daughter and another girl along with 3 of our horses to Felton, CA (where Roaring Camp is) for a day ride. The weather was perfect. We had a great time. It's only approx. 1 1/2 - 1hr 45 minute drive from LB.
