What a blessing to be open for business! Many businesses are still closed, and some will never be able to come back.
We are grooming! Taking every precaution to stay safe and keep our employees and clients safe. We are doing “curb service”. At this time, no one comes into the shop. We are spacing out appointments so that hopefully, no one has to wait. When you arrive, please remove collars, etc., call when you arrive, and someone will come out and get your pet with one of our leashes. We will call when your pet is ready to go home, and will bring him to your vehicle when you arrive.
Thank you for sticking with us during this trying time. Praying for an end to this horrible pandemic, and for all of you as we endure!

I definitely DO NOT support a cashless society
HERE IS WHAT NO CASH ACTUALLY MEANS

A cashless society means no cash. Zero. It doesn’t mean mostly cashless and you can still use a ‘wee bit of cash here & there’. Cashless means fully digital, fully traceable, fully controlled. I think those who support a cashless society aren’t fully aware of what they are asking for. A cashless society means:

* If you are struggling with your mortgage on a particular month, you can’t do an odd job to get you through.

* Your child can’t go & help the local farmer to earn a bit of summer cash.

* No more cash slipped into the hands of a child as a good luck charm or from their grandparent when going on holidays.

* No more money in birthday cards.

* No more piggy banks for your child to collect pocket money & to learn about the value of earning.

* No more cash for a rainy day fund or for that something special you have been putting £20 a week away for.

* No more nixers on the side because your wages barely cover the bills or put food on the table.

* No more charity collections.

* No more selling bits & pieces from your home that you no longer want/need for a bit of cash in return.

* No more cash gifts from relatives or loved ones.

What a cashless society does guarantee:

* Banks have full control of every single penny you own.

* Every transaction you make is recorded.

* All your movements & actions are traceable.

* Access to your money can be blocked at the click of a button when/if banks need ‘clarification’ from you which will take about 3 weeks, a thousand questions answered & five thousand passwords.

* You will have no choice but to declare & be taxed on every pound in your possession.

* The government WILL decide what you can & cannot purchase.

* If your transactions are deemed in any way questionable, by those who create the questions, your money will be frozen, ‘for your own good’.

I could write lists for 5 days & still not finish explaining how utterly awful a cashless society would be, for everyone. Even for the goody two shoes who wouldn’t dream of not declaring $500
Forget about cash being dirty. Stop being so easily led. Cash has been around for a very, very, very long time & it gives you control over how you trade with the world. It gives you independence. I heard a story where a man supposedly contracted Covid because of a $20 bill he had handled. There is the same chance of Covid being on a card as being on cash. If you cannot see how utterly ridiculous this assumption is then there is little hope.

If you are a customer, pay with cash. If you are a shop owner, remove those ridiculous signs that ask people to pay by card. Cash is a legal tender, it is our right to pay with cash. Banks are making it increasingly difficult to lodge cash & that has nothing to do with a virus, nor has this ‘dirty money’ trend.

Please open your eyes. Please stop believing everything you are being told. Almost every single topic in today’s world is tainted with corruption & hidden agendas. Please stop telling me & others like me that we are what’s wrong with the world when you hail the most corrupt members of society as your heroes. Politics & greed is what is wrong with the world; not those who are trying to alert you to the reality in which you are blindly floating along whilst being immobilised by irrational fear. Fear created to keep you doing & believing in exactly what you are complacently doing.

Pay with cash & please say no to a cashless society while you still have the choice.

Karen did such a beautiful job with our 3 poodles. And they are following CDC Guidlines. We love Karen Wood and her staff. Well....we are finally up and running again!
Three months of lockdown, now playing catch-up! Please be patient with us. We are first booking the clients that we had to cancel in March, April and May. Many of you had standing appointments and we are scheduling you as quickly as we can. We’ve been working 10-12 hour days, 6 days a week, but we physically cannot keep that up.
We are being extremely careful, doing curb service, asking that you keep your pets’ collars etc with you. We will come to your vehicle and bring your pet in using one of our leashes, and sending him home the same way. We are following safety protocols as best we know how. Thank you for letting us care for your pets. They are precious to us.
We are doing a lot of Covid Smoothies (shave downs) out of necessity. We don’t want to torture your pet by raking out mats. It is just hair, and will grow back. Thankfully it is summer, when many pets get cut short anyway.
Looking forward to seeing everyone back...and don’t forget to book your next appointment so we can keep all the pets in good condition going forward.

To all my wonderful clients.... we will reopen Monday June 8; however, please be patient with us. We have literally hundreds of pets on a cancellation list....standing appointments that we had to cancel when we were first put on lockdown three months ago, and countless others that have called and asked to be put on our waiting list. We are going to be calling in the order of when your pet had to be canceled and booking accordingly. We are also going to space out appointments through the day(s) so as not having too many come at once. We are doing CURB SERVICE...clients will be asked to wait in their cars, remove collars etc and notify us when you are here. We will then come out and bring your pet in with one of our own leashes. No one will be allowed in the shop at this time. We will all wear masks, disinfect tables and cages after each dog and sanitize other often touched areas hourly. We must be so careful so as not to contribute to the spread of the virus.
If your pet was canceled, or if you are on our waiting list....we WILL call you to schedule your appointment. If we have to answer the phone many, many times a day, it will take us longer to make calls to schedule your pet.
I feel so badly for all the dogs and cats that desperately need care, and we will do our best to get to you ASAP. Also, during the month of June, we will be open 6 days a week trying to catch up.

P.S.
We will be taking major safety precautions when we do reopen!!
We will do curb service, i.e. clients will remain in their cars, remove collars, etc, and I or one of my staff will come get your pet with one of our leashes (one at a time). We will be wearing masks. We will be disinfecting our hands regularly; door k***s, counters, cash register, etc hourly. We will disinfect tables after each pet, and place a clean precut paper on tables for each pet. We want you back! We want to take care of your pets! And we want you (and us) to stay healthy.
We will be calling all of you that had standing appointments that we had to cancel when this lockdown started, to reschedule your appointments. Then....we will call those of you who have asked to be put on our waiting list. Then....and only then, we will begin to take call-ins. Please, understand, we have to do this in order.....so that we can try to catch up. Many of you have been waiting weeks, if not months!! And many of your pets are likely matted, and will have to be shaved. Don’t worry, we don’t want to hurt your baby....and it WILL grow back!

Dearest clients and friends,
Governor Gavin Newsom issued the bad news for us and our wonderful pets yesterday.......yet another 30 days of lockdown. I personally can’t understand why we can’t open in a responsible manner and take care of your dogs and cats. We have developed health guidelines to protect you and my staff so that we can get back to work. I feel so sorry for the pets, who, through no fault of their own, are becoming hot messes! They are getting matted, getting ear and a**l gland infections, toenails curling under, etc. I am prepared to open extra days and hours to try to catch up with all your pets when we are allowed to reopen....whenever that may be. Please write to our governor, senators, and congress and express your outrage. You might also contact the Santa Clara Valley Health Department ..... their ordinance says that pet grooming is cosmetic, NOT ESSENTIAL. I talked to a client yesterday that had her dog at the vet three times during the lockdown with skin issues because she couldn’t get him groomed.

A veterinarian's voice during Covid 😢😭

"This weekend I euthanized twice as many pets as usual.

Owners cannot justify unexpected bills when they have no idea when their next paycheck is coming.

This weekend I rationed my anesthetic drugs, as they are being diverted to humans on ventilators. I carefully considered each pain injection knowing that opioids will be diverted next. I pulled a sewing needle out of a puppy's throat while wondering what I would have done to save her life without these medications.

This weekend I gave tragic news and terminal diagnoses over the phone, over and over again. To owners whose face I had never seen. To familys who sent their pet inside, unable to accompany them because of covid.

This weekend I wore reusable mask and cap into surgery to save a dogs life. My disposable caps and masks are being donated and diverted to our human counterparts.

She had severe heart disease and was unstable under anesthesia. She survived this surgery, she went home to her mom, in part due to the ventilator that kept her breathing steady. The same ventilator that is earmarked for donation to human hospitals if the need arises.

This weekend for the first time in my life, I euthanized pets without stroking their fur, rubbing their ears, or hugging their grieving owners. I stood 6 feet away, wearing a face mask, and giving my injections and condolences from afar. It broke my heart a little more every single time.

Your veterinarian isn't on the front line of this war, we are the rear defense. We are being called as volunteers in states where human medical professionals are overwhelmed. We are donating and rationing our medications. We are giving up our ventilators. And we know why. We know that our actions will save human lives, and we won't hesitate at doing what we have to. But don't for a second think that our hearts aren't breaking too. And as this virus spreads, it will get worse.

Please, Stay Home.

Your pet can't catch covid, but it can hurt them nonetheless."

Update on the COVID 19 lockdown....
To all my valued clients and friends...
The stay-at-home order has been extended to May 5 😢.
Hopefully, prayerfully this awful pandemic will be under control by then and we will be able to return to some degree of normalcy. I’m anxious to get back to work and your pets will be needing to see us. Please keep brushing AND COMBING to avoid tangles and matting until we can groom your pet.

To all my valued clients and friends:
I have closed The Foxy Hound until at least til April 7 for the protection of my employees, clients and friends. Santa Clara County is on lockdown for 3 weeks. Hopefully, prayerfully our lives will return to semi-normal by then, and I can reopen. I know many of you need your pets groomed, and will need it more so in the coming weeks. When we reopen, we will accommodate you as quickly as possible. We will likely be open more days and hours to play catch-up.
