It's that time of year when the foxtails start drying and causing problems for our pets. We've removed 2 of them this week already.
Here is an article from UC Davis on these pesty grasses.

Foxtails are especially dangerous to pets in the summer months.

Polite Pooch class is starting on Wednesday, March 13th at 6:00 p.m., and is for dogs 4 months and older. Whether you’ve just completed puppy classes or need a refresher for your older dog, this class is for you. For 6 weeks we will work on various cues to help your dog with impulse control, settling and overall manners in real life situations. We will also have fun with our dogs, learning different ways to provide mental as well as physical stimulation. Email [email protected] to sign up.

Since 2008, Dr. Megan Hanken has been an integral part of what makes Los Gatos Dog & Cat Hospital a well-respected veterinary hospital. It is with mixed emotions that after 15 years of dedicated service, Dr. Hanken will be leaving LGDCH to pursue an amazing opportunity at Murphy Pet Hospital (aka: Murphy Avenue Pet Clinic) in Sunnyvale. Her last day will be Friday, March 1st.
Megan not only has provided exceptional care to our patients, she has been a leader at LGDCH and served as one of our medical directors for the years after Dr. Frandle’s retirement. She has always believed in Dr. Frandle’s vision for LGDCH and played a large part in making sure we are providing exceptional patient care, client service and also ensuring a positive workplace culture. Megan is a beloved veterinarian, coworker and friend. We will all miss working with her.
We are actively searching for a new associate veterinarian to join the hospital. This may be a long process due to the nationwide shortage of veterinarians. We appreciate your patience while we are short a full-time doctor. You can address any concerns to me at [email protected].
We want to wish Megan all of the best in her new adventures at Murphy Pet Hospital. Sunnyvale is getting one of the best there is. We are grateful for the 15 fabulous years we have been able to work with Dr. Hanken and we cherish the memories and laughter.
