Many of you know Amelia, our 11-year-old owner, who often answers the phone, helps in the shop, and brings an energy that makes The PetHouse special.
Today, a customer chose to yell at Amelia while she was doing her best to assist a customer on the phone and run the store. This customer ended her beratement by yelling, "This is why people don't come back here", leaving Amelia in tears.
Let us be absolutely clear: this behavior is unacceptable. Amelia is a valued part of our team and our community, and she deserves patience, kindness, and respect—just as every child does.
We are proud to teach responsibility and customer service at a young age, and we love that our community overwhelmingly supports that. Constructive feedback is always welcome, but hostility toward a child will never be tolerated in our store.
We stand behind Amelia 100%, and we know our compassionate community does too.

Gizmo has been listening and decided that The PetHouse needs to stay open later for all his fans (and for anyone stocking up on catnip toys before he steals them).

So, here’s the new fall schedule:

Store Hours:
Tuesday – Friday: 1 PM – 7 PM
Saturday: unchanged

We will be here early in the mornings focusing on grooming appointments, and afternoons are open for cuddling animals, shopping, healthy supplies, and catching Gizmo red-pawed in the toy section.
