Happy Vet Tech Appreciation Week to Raleigh, Isabel and Makayla🐾.
When asked what her favorite thing about being a vet tech is, Raleigh says “being able to assist Dr. Wells in providing the best care possible to our patients. I also really enjoy doing cytologies!”
Isabel says the most rewarding thing about being a tech is “being able to send pets home happy and healthy.”

Wellness Wednesday: This patient was brought in by her owner because she kept hearing a popping noise when her baby would walk. After a full orthopedic exam, Dr. Wells found the source of the clicking to be her patella (knee cap) popping in and out of the groove on her femur. The technical diagnosis for this is called medial patellar luxation which means that her knee cap pops in and out towards her body. Some dogs have this and it doesn’t seem to bother them. But any dog that has knees like this is prone to developing arthritis due to chronic grinding associated with the back and forth motion. The only way to correct this is with orthopedic surgery. If your pet shows any type of lameness in their rear legs or you hear a consistent clicking noise when your pet walks, it is best to have it checked out.
