A trio of sleepy puppies 🥰
Jumping in mud puddles and playing with Odin
Our temporary fix for raccoon in the coop. Must have been a raccoon instead of an opossum that got into the bunny barn. After we penned them up to be inaccessible, it moved onto the coop and killed 15 of our flock (surplus killing). We haven’t had any more deaths since placing the blocks and letting the dogs run the big yard.

Wifey made some great progress and cleared the rest of the trees from the new garden area! 💪🏻 we just have to tarp it now to kill off the grass and turn it into green mulch!

We had a predator attack in the bunny barn. We were unable to pinpoint location of entry, so we caught all the buns and caged them until we can get things sorted. It was a great opportunity to separate the girls and boys too-we’ll need to dispatch the boys soon and I’m excited to have new pelts to work with!
Aurora has been all about “Pinkalicious and the Pink Drink” so we made some today! With strawberries-not “pink frosting, pink grapefruit, pink watermelon, and purpleicious beets” 😂
I also pulled my tulsi basil to dry so I can harvest the seeds! 😊🍃

We had our first snow today! And our first fire of the season 🥰
Triton had his annual check up and got a clean bill of health and up to date on vaccinations 💉 He did so good at the vet and settled beautifully to wait.
Alex was snug as a bug in a rug in her baby blanket 💜
And we did some science with Aurora with colored baking soda and vinegar in a small carved pumpkin 🎃 She loved it and is excited to do more “potions” 😂

We visited the vet for Triton’s annual checkup and he settled so well waiting in the room. He was laying on the floor and Aurora laid down with him and told him, “It’s ok Triton, we can do hard things” 😭

The buns are growing up and getting bigger.
Aurora’s parsley is getting a pair of true leaves!
The basil has bloomed and now I’m just waiting for seeds to ripen so I can refresh the Aerogarden 😂
My pothos got chomped by the pup and it has been moved to rehab. It’s peeking up and starting to grow up again 😊
And our spinach bolted before any harvest, so growing winter spinach apparently won’t work in the Aerogarden for us.

Aurora and Tati were snuggling in the yard today. We’ve officially started clearing where the new garden is going to go....

Our kitties are important to our homestead because they mouse the outbuildings for us and help keep rodents out of the feed. They’ve left our bunny kits alone so far, and they are very sweet! We let them in the house, but most do go back out overnight. Aurora loves having them supervise her and our dogs coexist well with the kitties. Plus we love the purrs and snuggles when we get them!

Aurora and I planted some seeds and they are starting to germinate! She is excited to see them, but I think more excited to spray their water bottle 😂
We had some ladies gathered on the Daisy fleabane growing outside the bunny barn.
And Aurora also found a caterpillar so we got to talk about those today 💜
Then we leaned into spooky season and painted a couple pumpkins and she absolutely loved it 😍

We had a rooster who wasn’t playing nice. So Whitney took care of him. And he was delicious! Cooked up the breast and put it in some white chicken chili, legs/thighs are broke down to become chicken nuggets, and the carcass and neck went into this lovely stock 💜 plus the dogs were happy to get some organ and scrap treats!
