Chevy made his journey across the rainbow bridge this morning. He had been fighting many battles for a long time. He had been treated (implants) for adrenal, for insulinoma, and on top of that, heart disease the last 2 1/2 years. I had no idea last night that we would be saying goodbye this morning. He was so sweet and so good. He was such a beautiful big boy. 💔

Shyren had her implant last week and today she is having a dental. Shyren has been here since 2019. She has a nasty little habit of using her teeth. After her dental today I believe she will have a few less to use on us. I hope she behaves herself and doesn't bite any of the wonderful staff at Animal Hospital. I left them some gloves just in case she is in a mood 😄

I have not done a great job posting. The last year has been very busy helping to take care of my parents. In addition I have took in quite a few senior ferrets that have multiple health issues.
Today's vet trip I took a very sweet boy. He is 6 this year. He is squatting and straining but only poops a dot. A radiograph showed constipation. Ultra sound revealed abdominal lymph nodes, adrenal mass, nodules in his liver & on a positive note, a normal bladder. He has started treatment and will be rechecked in 2 weeks. He is a beautiful boy. Looks perfectly healthy. It's a little concerning what the x-rays and Ultra sound showed. Please send some prayers Odie's way.

Ford is part of the permanent senior group. He is mostly blind and mostly deaf. He got his Des Implant today. He has a couple bad teeth and will get to go back for a dental. He is a super sweet ole man.

My sweet old man Ray seems to have one thing after another. He was walking around leaving little bloody foot prints. It turned out to be a tumor right on the bottom of his foot. I can't even imagine the discomfort with every step. My vet (who is incredible) was able to get all the tumor out. Ray is feeling so much better and snoozin like a little prince.

Good morning from Stevie and Kito!
They had their vet appt yesterday. Stevie got her implant!!! Kita appears in the beginning stages of Adrenal so she will be needing an implant. If anyone has an extra they can send that would really help with the expense.

Update: Freeze dried Stella and Chewy chicken is what she would like to get them transitioned to.

Linda has the ferrets and is calling vets in her area to find one that can give the Suprelorin Implant to treat Adrenal. As soon as she has the vet info I will post it so you can call in a donation to help with the expense. Linda could use some ferret food for them. If anyone is interested in getting a bag of food shipped to her message me and I'll send you an address Linda currently has a senior ferret that is Insulinoma. She did not plan on taking on two more right now but her heart could not let her iignore the post and need of these two girls. Thanks everyone for the support. The ferret community is the best 💗

Update: Linda got the ferrets. They are both girls. Very skinny. The adrenal ferret has a lot of swelling in addition to the hair loss. The girls need names so send your suggestions. Linda has a good drive a head of her to get back home. Once she gets home and gets them settled she will get on here and update everyone. It can be very emotional walking into a situation like this. Sometimes things aren't what you think they will be and people arent all bad they just need help.

Update: Linda is gettimg them today at 4:00. She will update us about both ferrets once she gets home. She will be seeking a vet near her in WV to get the little girl in and get an implant for Adrenal. Once we have the vet info we can call in donations. The second ferret could probably use a check up at the very least.
The kiddos have been eating meow mix cat food so any helpful post on transitioning their diet will be appreciated.

Vet trip today with 2 old boys that came with a lot of issues. Ray and Charlie. Rechecks for both. Raising Rays dosage on some of his heart meds and trying something new for Charlie's constant itching. Arent the oldies so stinkin cute 💙💙

Sadly Nova has made the journey. She came here in 2020 at 5 years old. She had been in multiple homes. This was to be her forever home. She was lovely from day one and she was so happy here. I have been treating her for a couple years for adrenal. This summer she got a growth on her jaw. It popped up so fast. I had it removed and unfortunately it came back as Lymphoma. We love you Nova and you will always be missed. It is eventually heart breaking to rescue the older ferrets and medically compromised. But I love them so much. I'm so glad she came here. 💔

Shyren is a senior adrenal ferret. She came her in 2019 because of a very unpleasant habit of biting. Despite her nasty habit she is unbelievably beautiful. I love this girl. I don't like getting bit but I do love her.

Sweet Carly got her second implant today. She will be going back Friday for a much needed dental. Several people contributed to her implant. I have had multiple ferrets get implants in the last couple of months. It has been costly. I just want to say "Thank You" to Dawn, Erin & Sally. I really appreciate your donation that helped Carly. Charlie got his second implant today. It is hard to believe it has already been a year since he was found at a park, bald, bleeding, dehydrated and starving. I wasn't sure he would make it. Look at him now 🙂
