Ever wonder why black cats are associated with Halloween? 🤔

The answer has to do with the Celtic festival, Samhain, that gave birth to modern day Halloween. 🎃

On Samhain, it was believed that the Cat Sìth, a Celtic fairy creature that was said to resemble a large black cat, would bless any house that left a saucer of milk out for it to drink. 🐈‍⬛

Cat Sìth would also curse any house that didn't! 🥛 Thirsty kitty!

2️⃣ Get your cat used to the carrier by leaving it out before the visit.
3️⃣ Put a blanket or towel with familiar scents in the carrier.
4️⃣ Secure the carrier in the car and drive calmly to avoid stress.
5️⃣ Keep your cat in the carrier at the vet and offer treats to build positive vibes.

DYK that cats actually can’t taste sweet things?

Unlike humans, cats lack the taste receptors for sweetness, which is unusual for mammals.

Typically, cats have no interest in candy, soda, or other sweet treats.

So, if you’re eating a cookie and your cat seems curious, they’re likely more interested in why you’re eating it than looking to try it themselves. 😹
