These heartbreaking stories bring to light the need for kind individuals to step up and become volunteers. Fostering can do so much to help change the lives of these animals. You could be the one to make a lasting difference. 😊

The haunting eyes of a dog who’s lived outside, been forced to have litter after litter, only known to be used for profit- not companionship. She gave birth to another 8 puppies earlier this morning in the chaos and unfamiliar environment of the shelter.
Despite all this- she is still the sweetest dog.

We don’t deserve the goodness of dogs.
We never will.

We are urgently seeking FOSTERS for dogs over 40lbs.

Friday we had to take in 9 adult dogs with 6 puppies, then this mama with the 9 gave birth to 8 early this morning.

Our staff will be running a play group of adoptable dogs in the middle of the store.

Dear friends and supporters,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of FOMAS Board Member, Amy Wistosky. Amy was truly a blessing to those she came into contact with, asking how you were and remembering the smallest details about what was going on in your life. She put in that extra effort to make sure you were seen and heard because she genuinely cared.

Amy was a kind woman who gave so much of herself to improve the lives of humans and animals alike. She is the reason FOMAS is where it is today. Through her work and dedication, she helped save the lives of thousands upon thousands of animals.

We here at FOMAS will continue to make sure her memory never fades. Honoring her in everything that we do for the Louisville community.

🌟 We’re Hiring! Join the FOMAS Team! 🌟

FOMAS (Friends of Metro Animal Services) is looking for a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our Executive Director! 🐾

Some Highlights of What You’ll Do:

✅ Assist in the preparation of donor engagement correspondence such as newsletters, donor acknowledgment letters, social media posts, and the like 💼

✅ Provide as-needed assistance with various events throughout the year, such as serving as a FOMAS table host/representative📊

✅ Provide general administrative support including data entry, filing, and copying💌

✅ Organize and schedule appointments for the Executive Director🛍️

✅ Coordinate monthly MAS staff lunches 🥪

What We Offer:

💵 $18.00 - $20.00/hour (based on experience)

🕒 Flexible part-time hours (20–25 hours/week)

🏡 Remote but must be based in Louisville, KY, or the surrounding area (as the Administrative Assistant would need to come to the FOMAS office at least one day per week)

If you’re passionate about helping animals and have strong organizational skills, this could be the purr-fect role for you! 🐶🐱

Not everyday can be full of calls, meetings, and letters. Sometimes your taste buds are put to the test at the annual Louisville Metro Animal Services Chili and Dessert cook-off.

Outside of being caring and compassionate individuals, the staff at MAS can really throw down in the kitchen. The race is tight this year!

Look at this rockstar! Thank you Brenda for supporting Louisville Metro Animal Services with donations from your birthday drive. It's amazing to see the younger generation step up and make a difference in the lives of community animals!

A big Happy Birthday to Brenda who’s only birthday wish was to give shelter pets toys, treats, and soft bedding.
Her friends and family came through!
Brenda was able to collect all these items for shelter pets for her birthday.
