Meet Murtaugh – the canine equivalent of a battle-hardened detective with a heart of gold. This pup and his brother rolled into our lives at what we thought was “4 weeks old,” weighing in at a mere 2 pounds. But don’t let that fool you: even then, Murtaugh had that underdog spirit, ready to take on the world.

Fast forward a few months—around 3.5 months to be exact—and this bully/staffy mix has transformed into a 35-pound powerhouse. He’s almost fully crate trained, mastering his routines like a seasoned pro on the force, and making solid progress with his potty training. Whether he’s patrolling the backyard with his foster siblings, methodically chewing on his favorite toy, or recharging with a well-earned nap, Murtaugh’s calm, low-key nature belies the action-packed journey he’s been on.

Meet Riggs – the canine maverick with a heart that packs a punch. He and his brother stormed into our lives at “4 weeks old,” weighing in at just a lean 1.5 pounds. But don’t be fooled—this little dynamo was built for action from day one.

Now, at an estimated 3.5 months old, Riggs has bulked up to a solid 30 pounds of high-octane energy. This bully/staffy mix is nearly fully crate trained and on target with his potty training, proving he’s as disciplined as he is daring. Whether he’s tearing through the yard with his foster siblings, chasing down every toy like it’s a high-speed pursuit, locking in on wrestling bouts with his brother, or recharging with a power nap, Riggs is always ready for the next mission.

We thought we would share a little sunshine on this chilly morning and introduce our two newest intakes — Charlotte 💕 and Velcro 🩵

These two unfortunately found themselves sitting at a rural KY shelter when no family came to claim them after being turned in as strays. Luckily two of our foster families said “YES” to getting these sweet pups out of the shelter and on the way to a better life! ♥️

These two are the sweetest kiddos and are already showing off how loving and well behaved they are. 🥰

Miss Charlotte is in serious need of some groceries and TLC. She is a good 15lbs underweight, has healing wounds, and is absolutely exhausted. 🥺

It's National Love Your Pet Day, and Margo would love nothing more than to find a family to celebrate this holiday with! ❤️

Margo is about a year old, and she's a very special breed... she's a No-Tail Pittie! 🤩 Ok, so maybe that's because of a minor happy-tail amputation, but we like to think she's just super special 💁🏼‍♀️

Margo loves going for walks and is a big fan of a good bone to chew one 🦴 And when she's done with all of that, she loves to cuddle 🥰 She's very smart and is super trainable - She's already been through some professional training so she's started off on the right paw 🐾 We think Margo would do best in a home with another doggie friend... this girl is all about some companionship 🐶

Poor Tot 💙 ,the last bottle baby from the Potato litter is wondering why his family hasn't found him yet. 😭

He came to us at about 10 days old after he and his siblings were dumped without their momma to feed and care for them. 🥺
He has thrived with his foster family for the past 3.5 months and is ready for his forever family! All of his siblings have been adopted.

Tot has grown from a tiny 2 pound orphan into a sweet loving boy. He loves playing with his foster siblings and exploring in the yard. But his favorite thing is a good squeaky toy! Sometimes when he is tired he likes snuggle up in his foster mom's lap, like he did when he was a little baby. 😍

Tot is a pittie mix and guessed to be around 40-60lbs full grown! He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. Did you know that penguins often mate for life? They form deep bonds and are known for romantic gestures, like bringing each other gifts 🐧❤️

Like her namesake, Gentoo bonds deeply and is the sweetest girl 🥰 And Valentine’s Day is coming up…. She would make the perfect date!

Gentoo (Tootie) is a 6 month old border collie/pittie mix and has spent her whole life in rescue 😲 I don’t understand how since she’s virtually perfect 🤷🏼‍♀️ She is shy at first but she warms up quickly and just wants to be your best friend. She’s a very well behaved girl who loves to play with her foster fur-siblings, or snuggle up on the couch with her people. She’s super smart - if you’ve ever thought about doing agility (or just teaching a dog to fetch you a beer 🍺) she would be excellent for that! And she’s gorgeous, just look at those eyes 😍

You may remember Miss Rosalita 🥀

She originally came to us back in October after being found dumped in a ditch in rural KY. Rosie was emaciated, full of parasites and skin infection and weighed in at just TWO pounds. Our resilient girl developed rickets from malnutrition but quickly bounced back with good vitamins and love! 🥺 She was adopted back in December once she was healthy, but it was not the best fit. She has been settling back into her foster home for a few weeks now and patiently waiting for her forever family to scoop her up. 💕

Rosalita is a petite girl weighing a little over 20lbs at around 6 months old! She is the goofiest pup with prettiest eyes and the best ears! 😍 Rosie can be shy at first when meeting new friends, but will quickly warm up and show you just how much personality this energizer bunny has! Rosie loves to hangout near her people, and will often carry her toys room to room so she can play close while her foster mom does chores. 🥺

She LOVES earning treats, any and every toy, and playing with her furry foster siblings. She would be best with dogs who don’t mind her spunky play style and obsession with kissing faces. 😘

Rosies top two breeds are pittie and border collie — DNA test is pictured. Please remember this petite precious girl is high energy and she is a herding breed mix so she thrives when exercised both mentally and physically. 🥰

Rosalita is doing great house training, is quiet in her crate, and working hard on basic commands. Leash walking is a work in progress so she will need continued guidance. We would like to share a very special girl with you today. This is Roo Roo. ♥️

Roo holds a special place in our hearts. She has consistently been let down by humans. Since we have known her she has been given up on by FIVE different families. 💔 Roo was found as a stray then her first adoptive family decided they didn’t have enough time for her, the next family eventually decided she was too big, then there were changes in the home that didn’t include her… the list of reasons she was not important enough to remain a forever family member goes on and on, but not a single one was a fault of her own. 💔

Roo Roo is a 7-8 year old rottie/lab/boxer mix weighing in at 90lbs. She is an exceptionally sweet girl and her foster mom is smitten with her. She is doing great with the dogs in her foster home and enjoys playtime with the 10 pound yorkie and 100lb dogo! She is also a big fan of nap time and just chilling out.

After losing one home after the other, it can understandably take some time for Roo to settle in, so a patient and understanding family is a MUST.

Wishful Wednesday — Tot is wishing for a home! 🥹🥹

And then there was one...

Tot 💙 is the last bottle baby, and smallest, from the Potato litter still looking for his home! 🥔

Tot came to us at about 10 days old after he and his siblings were dumped without their momma to feed and care for them. This sweet kiddo has thrived with his foster family after lots of love, care, and sleepless nights bottle feeding every 2 hours around the clock. 😴

Tot loves playing with his foster siblings and exploring in the yard. Tug of war is his favorite game, but he also doesn't mind entertaining himself with a good bone. When he is tired he will find his way to his crate for a nap or snuggle up with his human. 😍

He is the sweetest boi that just takes a little bit to warm up. He’s a smart and active German Shepard mix that has gone to professional training and would do best in a family that is willing to continue it! He’s got the bestest ears and silly personality. 🐶

Cloud has spent 210 DAYS in foster care after being rescued from deplorable conditions that she lived in for quite some time. 💔 This girl deserves her chance at forever… 🥺

This 2-year-old pittie mix is as sweet as her name suggests. Though she’s a bit shy at first, once she warms up, she’s a total lovebug who’ll steal your heart! Cloud adores snuggling after a good play session and enjoys spending time with her doggy foster brother. 🐶

She’s attended a two week board and train program and is ready to show off her good manners in her forever home! Cloud is house trained, crate trained, e-collar trained, and knows basic commands! If you’re patient and looking for a big baby to love, Cloud will be your perfect companion. ☁️

Meet Miss Mia, a charming one-year-old hound mix with a sleek, long-legged profile. Initially a bit shy, Mia transforms into an affectionate love bug once she's comfortable. She will press herself into you and give you all the kisses you will let her. She enjoys contorting herself in silly ways and she has a very expressive face. 🥸 Due to her exuberance, she'd thrive in a home with older children who can appreciate her oversized puppy enthusiasm. 🤪 Mia boasts velvety soft fur, expressive eyes, and endearing hound ears. Mispits had a super fun Saturday! We kicked off the day bright and early with the Pupkin Spice 5k. Everyone had such creative costumes it was hard to pick winners 👻 Afterwards, we went to PG&J's to hang out for a while and saw lots of alumni and brought some goodie bags for Halloween 🐾🐾 Thanks to everyone who came out! We couldn’t do it without your support 😊

Kendall, Henry, Mia, Greta, and Rosie sure had fun handing out candy at Kroger yesterday. Kendall has grown up in rescue and is a dog whisperer. She helped us out by manning the candy for a bit today. Henry is a five year old shepherd mix of some sort maybe who loves everyone (especially kiddos) and is dog friendly! He’s done great with house training and picks up on things quickly! Mia is a white houndy mix and is a one year old bundle of fun. This girl loves nothing more than giving super slobbery kisses. She has the most beautiful eyes. Greta is a 7 month old shepherd mix (a guess) with the sweetest demeanor. She had a tough start in life but you’d never know now. She is good with everything! Rosie is guessed to be a poodle mix around five years old. She’s got a longer body and is kind of wiry haired. She’s loves everyone!
