When your pond clientโ€™s pure bred Boston terriers had puppies 7wks ago, you get all the photos and puppy snuggles! Omggggggg I wish I could get one! But my autumn and luna would riot ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚Theyโ€™re the SWEEEEEEETEST little smooshes! Plus theyโ€™ve had their shots, And that puppy breath! ๐Ÿ˜

yes you have to bring them in for winter but its super easy to overwinter tropical pond plants indoors: (see comment section for instructions)
theyโ€™re full shade plants, bloom, get huge and I am obsessed

With this excessive heat make sure to beef up your aeration for your fish guys! Heat ZAPS the oxygen out of ponds and leads to sooooo many fish โ˜ ๏ธ every summer!
If the water surface gets too turbulent for you to see your fish, youโ€™re probably doing it right. Pro tip, contain the bubbles by floating a hula hoop on the surface where the bubbles are . It will aerate your water and the surface will go back to looking like glass!

Such an adorable pond! It came with the client's house, and they love it so much, but have zero ponding experience. (My personal favorite, because I love educating!) I found tons of rock on the bottom, which I stacked to control runoff as well as hold their tube in place, removed 20lbs of muck and debris, added a level to their waterfall so they can actually hear some splishy splashies, custom-potted a water lily for them, added some water lettuce, filled and drained until clear, added dechlor, and one baby koi so they have something to watch! I also trimmed back their bushes, which were completely blocking all light and shedding needles constantly into their pond.
