FOB Johnston Farm is situated on approximately 9 acres of open and wooded land. The main barn has 3 stalls which are 12′ x 12′ and matted, with separate feed and tack rooms, as well as cross ties. Riding space includes a large 66’ round pen behind the barn, and two large fields. Weekly and overnights welcome, with necessary documentation. There are no rental horses or trail rides, but lessons are

available. Please contact us for current rates. Certified Horsemanship Association Certified Instructor, Lacey Johnston, has been instructing riders of various ages for over 10 years. Riding and caring for horses for over 20 years, she believes in building a strong understanding and foundation of horsemanship. A life long learner, Johnston attends several conferences each year including the Certified Horsemanship Association and the Equine Science Society. She has presented at the National Association for Equine Affiliated Academics, and the International Society for Equitation Science, and is a member of the American Registry for Professional Animal Scientists, as well as ApHC, AQHA, AYHC, and the additional equine organizations listed above. She has ridden and shown with the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association throughout her undergraduate and graduate careers, and now serves as Advisor to the University of Tennessee Equestrian Team. Johnston also hosts equestrian practices for the national medieval organization, the Society for Creative Anachronism. FOB Johnston Farm has also hosted Boy Scout Troops, as Ms. Johnston is an Horsemanship and Animal Science Merit Badge Counselor. The farm’s name stands for Forward Operating Base (FOB), a title given by their friends (Soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division) when she and her late husband, SSG James Johnston, inhabited the snowy regions of Fort Drum in upstate New York. The farm has been a wonderful way to keep his memory strong by sharing his passion for the outdoors, and her passion for caring for and teaching others about horses.
