We still need your shoes. Thank you for the shoes dropped off today

We collect all year round. We will need them turned in by the end of October. I was hoping we would have a lot to pick up for this weekend so we could get them bagged & stored. So clean out those closets. Remember they have to be wearable shoes. No yard mowing shoes, broken heels, broken zippers or the soles falling off, or the finish peeling off please. Tina will be in Louisville on Saturday 6//22/24. It would be wonderful if everyone could drop at Ruths address for pick up

It’s been a long but productive day. 4 dogs were on different transports. 1 to his new home & 3 to fosters. Thank you to the transporters today. You’re so much appreciated. Thank you the fosters. You’re so appreciated. It does take a village. The girls processing applications have been busy all week. Next week vetting to get done. We’ll get pics posted as soon as we can as they’re trying to settle in

Hey there, human friends! 🐶 We’re Scout and Fred, and we’re pawsitively thrilled to invite you to the Basset Rescue of Kentuckiana Waddle on Saturday, October 12! 🎉 We’ve been wagging our tails all week just thinking about it!

Imagine a day filled with belly rubs, new friends, and lots of treats! All our friends will be there hanging out, sniffing around, and hoping to meet some of you awesome people. Plus, there will be fun raffles, a photographer, t-shirts to buy, and plenty of our fellow Basset Hounds to play with. All friendly dogs are welcome to join in on the fun!

Come join us from 10am to 2pm at Vissing Park for a pawsome time supporting our rescue friends and maybe even finding a new best friend! 🐾❤️

Winnie & Jojo are senior bonded sisters. Approx 9 yo. Their mom broke her ankle & couldn’t care for them. They were taken to the vet to euthanize. Thankfully the vet said no & contacted us.
They like to sleep, they are lovers. And they love couch time. So move over because these girls stay together on the couch

Elmer is a senior hound. He loves his bed & sleep, sleep, sleep. He enjoys his nap time outside on his karunda bed or shady spot. He gets along with other dogs & loves kids & it would be great for him to have a buddy & fenced yard. He’s just the best hound. He doesn’t like loud noises.

Hoover is a handsome, healthy, happy 56 lb, 4 yr old goodest boy. He is learning to love the luxuries of being a full time inside dog with cushy beds, toys, playtime, slinging drool, and is even warming up to initiating snuggles & cuddles.

He is fully housetrained and lets you know when he needs to go outside either by pacing from his hooman to the door if he is out of his crate. If he is in his crate, he whines and barks. He is crate trained and settles in less than 5 minutes. Speaking of whining and barking, he is a fairly quiet boy. The only time he excessively barks is when he is crated and his hoomans leave the house. For this reason, he would not be a good fit for apartment living as he expresses great displeasure being left alone.

Hoover is a curious dude who wants to check out everything in the house, but he hasn't yet shown traits of a naughty basset as he hasn't stolen or eaten anything he shouldn't. This guy doesn't even live up to his name as he doesn't always eat his breakfast and dinner, nor does he often take treats when offered.

Hoover loves to romp and play with hoomans and doggos and is a master at respecting corrections from both. He loves chew toys, balls, and squeaky toys. So far, his favorite game is to play fetch with a tiny squeaky hippo or duck.

If Hoovie Hoo could speak English, he would say that he would love a family who has another basset to play with, adults and/or older kids to play with, comfy beds to sleep in, fluffy blankets to nest in, hoomans to take him on walks and car rides, and endless love for him making sure he always knows he is a furever member of the family.Hoover is not a cat friendly kinda guy

PENDING ADOPTION

Roxie. This feisty little redhead is ready for her very own home! She will do best in a home with older children or adults. She needs a dog buddy (s) that can match her energy level. She plays hard but settles down very nicely for some quiet time.
She’s social, completely non-aggressive, not destructive, very affectionate, and loves living life indoors as part of the family. She does great with the resident cat.
She’s young, and needs supervision, patience, and positive reinforcement. A secure, fenced yard is a must. She loves to play outdoors and needs a lot of exercise.
She is learning manners and has done great with her house training. However, ignoring her cues will result in an accident. Think “toddler”!
All in all, she is pure Basset sweetness and would be an amazing addition to the right home.

Dixie is a very sweet girl. She loves to snuggle and just lay with you on the couch. She gets along well with other dogs and kids. She sleeps in her crate without issue. She is working on potty training but she will need to continue working on it. She hasn't quite got the hang of it yet. She will not potty if she is being taken out on her leash. She will take any opportunity to steal food off of the counter or even out of the trash so it needs to be kept out of her reach. She is very loving and requires as much attention as she can get. She is on the smaller side but her vocals are very much on the larger side. Dixie is approx 5yo

PENDING ADOPTION. I am the one and only W***y. I am 2 to 3 years old and I'm full of fun and sass. I get along with everyone two legged and four legged. I've learned how to use the doggie door and love going in and out as I please. I used to spend a lot of time in a kennel and boy do I love all this freedom. I'm not a huge fan of ticking clocks and like to tell them to be quiet. I like a little extra something something on my kibble every day. I'm a little picky but with broth or burger sprinkles I gobble it down. As you can see from the pics below I'm a bit of a bed hog as I like to be comfy with my human. I have lots of love to give and after tomorrow my neuter and my vetting will be completed. Please apply to adopt me and I'll be your best friend forever. Love W***y.
