As a part of the AZA Species Survival Plan (SSP), our Rüppell's griffon vultures will be moving shortly to another zoo in efforts to improve their declining population. Vultures play a vital role in our ecosystem by cleaning up nature's leftovers and preventing the spread of disease. Hay, Hay, hooray! This week Letterman, our male white rhino, celebrated his 10th birthday with some special enrichment.

The family group of Kweli, Kindi, Patty, Paki, Casey and newest addition Abeo have completed their unprecedented introduction process and can now be seen on rotation outside and in the day room.

The winning name is a combination of his parents’ names, “Kami” and “Jingga.” Their legacy will live on through this cub, contributing to the conservation of Sumatran tigers for future generations.
