May felt much better. Barely clipped the 1st which is rare for us. Had I’m still on Jade moment on the 2nd and moved her when I didn’t need to. 15.6 but she felt great and is ready for Hamilton for the first race of a great 2025.

Well Jades third run ever. No exhibitions horses everywhere in the warm up area cutting us off. Oh and first night race. She went in ran a 15.7 and was 10th in the 1D futurity. I am super proud of her. And she hasn’t even added speed.

“There’s something different about the way a good mare connects with her rider. It’s special. Like an unspoken agreement. Once a mare chooses you as her person, it’s like she has an instinct to protect you, to fight for you. It’s almost as if she takes ownership of you.

I believe the good mares have a deep sense of intuition. They can read your mind. They know what you’re thinking even before you do. The good mares I know breathe fire in the face of challenge and then somehow, miraculously, know to quiet themselves when a timid child is plopped on their back for a pony ride.

BFA was definitely an experience, way out of my comfort zone. I could not have picked a better 4 yr old to take on this new journey. Futurity road is new one for me, but definitely looking forward to 2025 with this mare. We took a chance on this 5 month old 4 yrs ago, and after last week I am glad we did. A Beautiful Dash aka: Jade has taught me a lot about myself and abilities. For her first ever performance and timed run I’m super proud of her. She went up against 369 awesome horse and most have a year of experience on her. It only gets better from here. She has a lot of room for improvement and I am so blessed to be her jockey as she builds confidence.

So I am going to say Jades first ever away from home with no buddies is not fazing her any. She is sleeping good. One more day of ride arounds and practice here at Lazy E and then she makes her first ever timed run and competition. Being a 4 yr old is hard as you can see. Lol. A Beautiful Dash

Wilson made another nice run today. Put his two consistent runs together and he brought home a 6th place average check. Super proud of this young horse. It’s starting to come together.

Wilson made a nice run fell short of some pocket change. But super proud. New arena new set up. Another run tomorrow. Thank you Alps Chiropractic for making sure he feels great. Super proud of Breanna Jackson and Crystal Tate on their wins today. Let’s do more cowgirl s**t tomorrow.
