The selection committee took their job very seriously… and the voters have spoken! Our pretty little blue calf is now named Hallelujah or Halle for short!

Great weekend at the CoWN-SH stock horse show in Cheyenne.

Our RISE CREW had a strong weekend of growth, and success! We are so proud of all of them!

No matter what the results- no one can argue we have the best cheering section in the whole show! 👏 👏👏🙌🤩

** Sophia Haney overcame disappointment when her main man Hickory Chicaroo needed the weekend off- she brought Miss Ivy out of semi-retirement and end up 2nd 🤩 place overall in her novice youth class. They nailed their lead changes and circles in the reining and scored awesome in all the other classes. So proud of you!

** Livvy and her 4yo gelding ‘Tellar’ has a major win this weekend. The grit this girl has impresses us more and more all the time. The pair placed well in all their classes and looked good doing it! We couldn’t be more proud of you guys! What a good weekend. Kristi Carrigan Street —- PLUS the pair cut a check in the Ranch Riding Jackpot!! 🎉

** Sienna Moran and her mare ‘Ruby’ continue to improve and polish their partnership. They did an awesome job reading their spicy cow, and laid down a solid reining pattern that everyone loved watching. This exciting pair walked away with the 1st place buckle in the Youth division! Maree Moran Quinn Moran (it was fun to have Miss Nicole with us all weekend too)

** Jody Litchford and her 4yo mare ‘Twix’ had an incredible show that deserves to be celebrated! This is their first year showing together and they are gaining so much ground all ready. In the large novice class, this pair place 2nd Overall! It has been a pleasure to have the opportunity to have Twix in our training barn, and Jody as part of our RISE team

** Kaitlyn and her gritty little gelding ‘CJ,’ came to their first stock horse show with us this weekend. She’s such a cool kid, and her horse is just as fun. They tied for FIRST in their novice youth boxing class and had solid performances in the other three classes. One of the highlights was conquering the gate in their trail class! 🙌
These two are surly going to be ones to watch!

** Diana and the Open Horses

** DJ BLU LIL BOON aka ‘Tomi’ - were 2nd OVERALL in the Open Division, there were a few bobbles and a pilot error that knocked them down in a few classes- but overall her gritty cow run and win in the trail class kept her afloat at the top.
Tomi also won a check in the ranch riding jackpot!

** BETITWASTHEMOONSHINE aka ‘Rush’ - Carissa Michelle Green tied with ‘Tomi’ for 2nd place overall in a good sized class of Open horses. He was 2nd in the reining and held steady in the other three classes raising him up to the top of the placings.

** GUNNA RISE WITHYA aka ‘Nash’- advanced to showing in 3 of the 4 classes this past weekend. After some trouble in the ranch riding jack pot Friday night, he came through with a super solid mind and won his pleasure class, plus’ed a few maneuvers in his reining pattern and would have won his last-minute-entry into the trail class- if his trainer 😉 would have taught him how to drag a log (we obviously skipped that maneuver) prior to entering him. We are excited about this guys future.

COWN SPRING FLING

Sophia Haney and Hickory Chicaroo WON 🥇 the ALL-AROUND TITLE in the Novice Youth Division and for her FIRST BUCKLE- we are so dang proud of you.

Sienna Moran (Quinn Moran Maree Moran ) and Miss Ruby won both their reining and cow work class- and placed one point out of the all-around against some tough competition!

Jody Litchford and her 4 yo mare Twix placed 5th in the novice all around class! These two are having so much fun together and it’s cool to see them melding their partnership. Shout out to her awesome show help Emma Litchford! 

Livvy Street (Kristi Carrigan Street) proved herself to be a gritty cowgirl once again! Her 4 yo gelding, Tellar and her made huge improvements and ended the show with some great placings in ranch riding and ranch pleasure

Lanae Elam and her mare Holly joined us for their second ever stock horse show- and placed SECOND in Novice Reining and had a beautiful trail go! This is a team to watch for sure!

Carissa Michelle Green officially took the reins of BETITWASTHEMOONSHINE aka RUSH as his new owner and made their debuts in their first AQHA class! This pair is beautiful to watch- and they even placed 3rd in a tough Ranch Riding Jackpot!

* DJ BLU LIL BOON aka TOMI was first in the Open All-Around- and was the Ranch Riding Jackpot winner- this little blue mare, has an incredible amount of grit, and we are proud of her.

* Betitwasthemoonshine aka Rush placed 3rd overall in the Open All Around

* GUNNA RISE WITHYA aka NASH won his Jr Reining Class and was second in Jr pleasure class… we are so excited about this fancy colt’s future and look forward to growing his education and skill set

Mark Bernhardt- Cutting/Herd Work

Mark has been in the performance horse business for over 35 years and specializes in training cutters at his facility in Wellington CO. With over $100,000 in NCHA earnings, and many placings in the finals at aged events, Mark has established himself as a skilled showman.
His favorite group of horses are the young ones, he has a passion for educating and bringing along futurity horses.

Marks success in the equine industry is also due to his contagious smile and approachable personality which make him an awesome ally to anyone hungry to learn the sport.

Jim Cook- Cow Work

Jim was born in Glenwood Springs and raised on a ranch in western Colorado. After graduating from Colorado State University in 1973 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine, he ran his private practice for over 26 years before he decided to focus on training and showing reined cow horses.

Jim and his wife Jill are both accomplished NRCHA professionals with too many accomplishments to list. They run J&J Cook Performance Horses in Erie, CO.

Jim himself has over $111,000 in lifetime earnings. Not only is Jim a talented showman and horse trainer he is also an excellent trainer of people- the Cook’s clients have amassed over $100k in earnings, in addition to countless local, regional, and national achievements in the show pen.

Ariel Hug - Reining

Born and raised near Lake Winona, PA, Ariel has had an interest in horses as far back as she can remember. Getting her feet wet in the reining industry on the east coast, she quickly became hooked on performance horses. Taking an assistant position with Adam Hendrickson in northern Colorado helped her continue her education in the equine industry. After working for Adam for 3 years she went out on her own. Not only does Ariel have roughly $30k in National Reining Horse Association earnings, an NRHA Rookie Professional title, and an NRHA Reserve Limited Open World Championship, she also has a knack for coaching people.

Come enjoy Ariel’s humor and expertise as she helps the clinic participants prepare to shine in the show pen!
