One of the highlights of the year, which happens twice during summer, is our cattle drive week. The steers are pushed up into higher ground where the temperatures are cooler and the grass greener, where they will spend the summer roaming the high country in peace and quiet. Around late July early August, we ride up there to find them and push them back down to the ranch once again. It's one of those events in your life that leaves long lasting memories.

A filling, healthy breakfast (or unhealthy based on the 7 rashers of bacon I spotted on a little girls plate once 🤣).
A run around in beautiful weather with new found friends before a wagon ride to the barn. There, they will meet their horse (which they will ride for the rest of their stay), learn our barn rules, get a portrait and some instruction & arena time, and when everyone feels ready, they'll head out on their first trail ride.
It's a well controlled freedom that gives both parent and child the security to just enjoy their time on the ranch.
