So much to do, so little time! This family managed to fit it all in, except for the rock climbing because they couldn't spare time away from their new favorite horses. Can't wait to see you again soon! We'll make sure to say hello to Stormy, Jiminey, and Bonita for you too.

When you're so happy to be in the saddle, sometimes your horse smiles too! We just can't get enough of our guests this summer, and Sandy agrees. :) Ranch Hand was too busy snacking on grass to join in on the smile fest. ;)

Grab your tissues, folks, because this will be a tough story to share with you all. On Thursday, May 29th, we said our goodbyes to both Pistol and Sunset. 😪 Both of the boys were 28 & 29 years old, which is a good long life for any horse, not a mind a hard working one! Pistol was pretty much down to having no teeth, and he could no longer eat enough food to sustain him, as well as he had lost the desire to eat. His spirit was still strong, and he thought we were going on an adventure when we brought them up to their final resting spot by the old mare pasture. What a good pony he was, that one. Sunset, bless his heart, had a voriacious appetite, but his old joints pained him by the minute. So we did what every loving animal guardian should do when it's time, and picked a beautiful day to lay them to rest before it became a dire emergency. Put them down on a good day, they say, and that we did. This post will focus on Pistol, and Sunset will have his own highlight later this week. Finding over 20 years of photos takes time! Pistol came to the ranch as a lease horse from Sky Corral Ranch in 2002. He fit right in with the crew, and was purchased by Sylvan Dale that very same season, going on to charm the hearts of everone he encountered. He lived happily on ranch for the rest of his days, until his 29th year. We salute you, Pistol pony, Mr. Pistol, Pistole, the grade Quarter pony with all the personality one can possess. We miss him dearly, but find relief in the fact that he's no longer hungry down here on earth. On to greener pastures our friend, with a whole new set of teeth and reunited with his best friend, Pawnee. There won't be another one like him, that's for sure. So, enjoy the 23 years of memories we share with you today, and give your horses some extra love, as we never know how long they'll be with us. 29 years is something to goal for! ❤️🐴🤠
