Sometimes, the hardest part of end-of-life care is not knowing when. 💔

Dr. Mary Gardner’s quote speaks to something every veterinary professional has witnessed: the deep uncertainty and emotional weight families carry when trying to decide if it’s time.

At CAETA, we believe in supporting veterinary teams with the knowledge and communication skills to help families through these impossible moments—with empathy, clarity, and confidence.

Because while we can’t give them a handwritten note, we can offer guidance they can trust.

Sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference. 💛

This beautiful Art Therapy kit was created by CAETA graduate Dr. Carla Pilla, CPEV, to help children process grief during and after euthanasia appointments. Inspired by Dr. Cooney’s teachings, Dr. Pilla says she’s grateful for how much she’s learned through CAETA—especially when it comes to supporting families through one of the hardest days of their lives.

We’re so proud to see graduates like Dr. Pilla turning compassion into action.
