Princess Leia’s parents were out of the country when she came to see our emergency service. She was left with their family pet sitter, and while playing in her backyard, she stepped on a fish hook. Whimpering, she limped over to her pet sitter, who then rushed her in to see Dr. Kristen Baumgartner, our wonderful emergency vet. After taking a look at Princess Leia’s foot and talking with her parents, Dr. Baumgartner and her parents decided that Princess Leia would need to have a small procedure to safely take the fish hook out of her foot. Dr. Baumgartner and her team sedated Princess Leia, and took the fish hook out of her foot. She came out of her procedure with flying colors and no complications. After she recovered from her procedure, Princess Leia was on her way for some much needed rest at home with her pet sitter. A few days later, she was back to her happy self, running around in her backyard and training with her parents and showing off all her favorite tricks.
We are always happy to help pets like Princess Leia and many others. Our emergency team is always there for you and your pet, when you need us.
