Meadow’s Stick Horse
There’s no doubt we have a future equestrian here!

When you’re stuck inside because the air quality is horrible outside, you take your toddler to help give the horses some entertainment for the day!
Rip has been cooped up for two weeks recovering from two huge puncture wounds from a raptor 🦅 attack! He’s finally back to his normal routine!

No one ride George outside right now 😂
Last Sunday, barn favorite Zen was playing and injured himself. The vet has confirmed an injured Lateral Suspensory Branch of his right hind leg. He's 3/5 lame and the recommendation is 12 weeks of rest, at least the first two weeks on stall rest, cold hosing / ice treatments 2x per day, Stable Bandages at night, only two five minute walks a day. In addition, it is recommended to do 3 treatments of Shockwave Therapy, laser therapy and an injection.
This is going to be quite costly for him, but he is expected to make a full recovery. To help with the costs, I am going to be offering several things on here coming soon! Including, but not limited to logo design, photography and clinics. (I was thinking of maybe offering a braiding clinic, if that would interest anyone?)
Kayln, his long time leasor, will be helping me and is also going to be selling horse treats to anyone interested!
SOUND UP! Moments like this remind us of the joy that horses can bring! I love when my students come in excited and eager to learn and spend time with these wonderful horses!
This is how Kayln enjoys her last day of Fall Break before going back to school tomorrow! I think Biscuit also enjoyed it!
We had a blast! Candy Races, Mummy Horses, Pumpkin Carving, and of course some horse chores! The snow and high of 31* today didn’t stop us from having a wonderful day! We stayed inside mostly and had so so much fun! I didn’t take enough pictures but here are some! Please post more in the comments if you have them! Or send them to me!
Never a dull moment! Bongo sliced his hind leg and needed stiches & 2 weeks stall rest! He’s welcoming his students to come give him extra love & asks for lots of apples and carrots while he’s resting & bored!
Bongo is enjoying the start to his summer!
“Run for the Roses” by Dan Fogelberg is one of my all time favorite songs. The picture it paints of a foal coming of age in Kentucky hits any true horse lover right in the sweet spot. Witnessing a baby horse experience the first moments of life on the outside is truly remarkable! Welcome sweet little Lainey to the world & to our barn family here at WDEC!
Wally is so goofy! He loves his bananas from Keiko!
These two goofballs were trying to figure out how to take their blankets off!

We lost a wonderful horse from this world today. "Slim" Shady had a long life, where at the end he knew he was loved. His time with us was short, but no matter what he will still have a special place here in our hearts at Wind Dance Equestrian Center. His time was short, but in the end, his best days of life were here with us. Rest In Peace Slim, we will never forget you
