Big welcome to the newest member of the Patterson Equine team, territory manager Becky Hinz! Becky recently attended the Indiana Association of Equine Practitioners Fall Meeting, along with her trusty sidekick, Olive Grace. (Our team members are allowed to love other animals in addition to horses, after all! 😉)

Approximately 100 veterinarians, veterinary technicians, farriers, and students attended this continuing education event, which was held at a fun location inside the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds in Lebanon, Indiana.

Don't let the brightness of the coming supermoon 🌕 fool you: as we approach the winter months, hours of natural light are at their shortest.

During this season in particular, equine veterinary hospitals are presented with a lot of decisions as they look at lighting that supports their practice.

Here are some important things to consider as you look to illuminate which options are best for you: https://www.qgdigitalpublishing.com/publication/?m=53235&i=830755&p=8&ver=html5

When attendees visit our booth spaces at events, they can always expect to interact with a knowledgeable, passionate member of our equine team. Visitors to our space at the Saratoga National Alliance of Equine Practitioners (NAEP) Conference certainly found that in territory manager Brian Connor. But they ALSO got to interact with…a puppy! Brian’s new puppy, Roux, definitely brought a few extra folks our way throughout the event, which we didn’t mind one bit. 😉

The Saratoga NAEP Conference offers lectures and wet labs for veterinarians and includes farriers to better care for our equine partners.

Today is a special day, and not just because it’s a Friday. 😉 Today is the 30th work anniversary of equine customer service representative Theresa Laibe! Theresa is based in Cave Creek, Arizona, and has been with us through several company transitions. In fact, at one time or another, we suspect Theresa has spoken with every one of our equine customers!

When she isn’t taking excellent care of our customers, Theresa enjoys spending time with her husband Jeff, her granddaughter Ivy, and her pack of four pups – Stollie, Porkie, Gronk, and Godzilla.

Oh, and since you likely only interact with Theresa over the phone, you may not have guessed that she is a six-time Arizona powerlifting champion! 😮 🏋️‍♀️ Join us in wishing a happy anniversary to the STRONG and dedicated Theresa Laibe.

As an equine practitioner, your days can be long,
So we wish for you fresh brewed coffee that’s strong.
One cup is never enough – in fact it seems,
There’s no such THING as too much, for DVMs and their teams!
Whether you like it with cream or drink it straight black,
When you’re treating a patient best not turn your back –
Because heaven forbid when you turn around,
The horse’s sweet muzzle may just knock it down!
Is there such thing as too much caffeine? Our sources say “neigh,”
So we hope you make the most of !

Rabies is a unique disease, in that while the incidence of occurrence in horses is low, it is – without exception – fatal. It is highly significant in the realm of public health; however, only one out of every seven horses is vaccinated against it.

The rabies vaccine is a proven and effective way to prevent this deadly disease and should be administered annually to all horses. is a great reason to review the 2024 rabies vaccination guidelines, courtesy of the American Association of Equine Practitioners: https://aaep.org/resource/rabies-vaccination-guidelines/

Our territory managers have been busy bees as of late, buzzing to different regional trade shows and events and proudly representing our dedicated equine team. 🐝🐴

Earlier this week, territory managers Elexene Mattingly and Amy Todd attended the KVMA Mid-America Veterinary Conference, a three-day, premier CE-focused event held in Lexington, Kentucky.

We enjoyed connecting with veterinarians, vet techs, practice managers, and students about our product and service offerings, and even sponsored several snack breaks for hungry attendees needing to refuel.
