Per the PACFA rules effective July 15, all groomers are now responsible for keeping record of Rabies, Distemper and Parvo vaccines for dogs coming into any grooming salon or boarding facility. At this time, I just have to keep record, not verify each vaccine through the corresponding vet. It would be greatly appreciated if each client could text, or facebook message me their Vet name, phone number, and expiration dates of vaccines so I can add them to your client file. If your dog is exempt, I can take a letter from your vet saying so. If you have an upcoming appointment, but dont have all the required vaccines, please let me know asap so I can help in any way possible! Thank you!!

As licensed pet groomers through the Professional Animal Care and Feline Association (P.A.C.F.A.), we’ve noticed that the PACFA is considering a rule change (attached as 19.5.3) that could have significant repercussions for our clients and customers. Our primary concern is pets that cannot receive vaccinantions due to exisisting medical issues, not to mention forcing vaccinations on pet parents who may not believe in doing them annually. We anticipate that this restriction would compel us to deny services to clients whose pets have autoimmune disorders or age-related complications that prevent vaccination. If the rule is implemented, pet owners will be mandated to vaccinate their pets against Distemper, Bordetella, and Parvovirus, eliminating their ability to select the specific vaccines or when to administer the vaccines they choose for their furry companions. Additionally, our service would be severely impacted by this rule change, as dogs are never “commingled” during our services.
Given these potential consequences, we’re reaching out to our valued clients who might be affected by this rule change to express our concerns to PACFA about the negative impact it would have on our ability to provide comprehensive care for the pets we groom. Happy Holidays Everyone! I wanted to reach out to all of my clients (and potential clients) and talk about this Mystery Doggie sickness going around. Yes, it is recommended to avoid other dogs right now, as I've heard from many local vets.
1 Clean Pup has always been, and will continue to be, 1 human client at a time- meaning no other dogs are in my shop, while I'm working with your dogs. I am still heavily disinfecting all surfaces, tools, and equipment after each dog. I also use an ultrasonic cleaner for all blades and shears, and utilize a 2 step disinfect process, to help eliminate any risk to your pets. This is the main reason, why drop off times and pick up times are so important. I need that time between pups to ensure complete disinfection, and it keeps your pups from coming into contact with any other client pups. :)
If your dog is coughing, has eye or nose drainage, or appears to be "sick", please reschedule your appointment until your dog is symptom free for at least 1 week.
