Baby blue phase valleys (t.s. fitchi) born Saturday. Looking forward to raising a small group of these and was pleased to see they were born already showing attractive shades of blue.

This is actually the 8th litter of garters born here this year so far but I've been too busy to post.

Had a pretty big litter of tiny T.s. fitchi born yesterday from an average sized female. 33 live no stills, one of my biggest litters of garters to date. Due to their small size I imagine I'll be raising them up a little longer than usual.

These alpine short tailed garter snakes (t. Scaliger) I got from Ashley Dezan recently are some little pigs, and I got a little extra lucky with one of them seeming to be axanthic.

This will probably end up being my only holdback pearl from my recent litter... can't afford to keep them all! Lol

Happy easter

The puget sound garter snake (T.S. Pickeringii) has long been one of my favorite subspecies to keep and breed. This isn't even one of my top 3 best colored specimens. This ones a late 2019 slower grower, Expecting a small litter from her around mid June. (No requests for babies from specific parents will be entertained until babies are established)

Previously thought to be hard to keep due to heresay spread by breeders from "back in the day" they really aren't.

Infernalis! These are a staple of the hobby for a reason. It's hard to compete with the amounts of red and blue that this subspecies expresses. Sure there are more red, and there are more blue garters, but there aren't many with this much of both!

This was sooner than I could've hoped! And the babies are huge and healthy! She's still giving birth as I type but I plucked 2 out for a quick post! Should have a head count by morning! Looks like a bunch so far.

Included last are a couple pics of her babies from last year. (not produced by me but I did aquire them simultaneously to her) I see some minor color differences in the 2 babies I already took out so I'm already thinking one is gonna be a "light" normal and one will be a typical normal

40-60 days along for the checkered. Didn't record her time with the male as I never saw the slightest bit of interest, fingers crossed. Should be any day now. Side note I no longer think my smaller checkered female is gravid, just very stocky. She would've delivered by now if she were gravid when I first thought. Maybe next year.

32 days along for the lake chapala and the skin on her rear half has gotten so taught it would almost be cause for worry. Haven't produced in this species yet but if the experience of others is something to go by I can expect to wait at least another 60 days before she delivers. If not longer.

Plenty of breeding going on but these 2 are my best show-ers.

Have a small bit of concern over a female blue concinnus that came out of brumation already gravid. Really hoping the contents of her womb weren't damaged or stunted by her being cooled while pregnant, and if they were I just hope delivery goes smoothly and mom makes it.

Hoping for a solid litter from this pair! Copulation was verified 3/11, not by witnessing a lock though, there was a big gooey s***m plug bulging from the females cloaca when I got off work that day. Since then her appetite has gone through the roof, and she's increased in girth noticeably. As well as has a much better disposition. Was very flighty prior to copulation. Still very active and a bit hard to photo because of how much she moves but it's not so much her trying to get away as trying to explore now. This attitude change is the exact opposite of what I've come to expect from gravid females sans the appetite increase.

I sure do love oregon red spotteds! I probably talk/post about them the most of my projects, but they vary so much!

Welcome! I finally made the page I've been going on about for a year. Website next! It's still a work in progress but soon this will be a place anyone can check in to see what's FS at the time, or to see what my groups of adults or holdbacks and babies from past seasons look like. Thanks
