Hercules is getting adopted!
Hercules has a big announcement! He will be going to his forever loving family in a couple of weeks!! This excited and remarkable family has adopted from ERL before and plans to give Hercules all the TLC in the world as well as the tools to stimulate his clever, curious cute self. He is so grateful that the Clear The Shelters fund helped spotlight him as well as all the other animals/shelters featured in this crucial campaign.

Daisy Mae
Our featured equine for the Clear The Shelters Campaign this week is ER Purity aka Daisy Mae. Daisy Mae was recently turned over to the ERL when her owner could no longer meet her needs. She is a lovely 2016 Jenny donkey standing 13.2 hands tall. As shown in the video, she has a cheerful personality and a great disposition. She is easy to handle and has excellent manners. Daisy Mae will require a pasture area with limited grass especially in the spring when the grass is growing. She is a victim of founder, so her diet must be carefully monitored. She is a beautiful animal and deserves the very best life possible. Daisy Mae is available for adoption to the right home! If you are interested in Daisy Mae, send an email to [email protected]
Remember that starting tomorrow, Tuesday, September 3, at 1 p.m. ET, Hill’s Pet Nutrition will be matching donations dollar for dollar, up to $20,000 total to any of the organizations participating in the Clear The Shelters Fund. Once the 20K is met, the match is over.

Mateo
In case you missed it, our featured equine this past week for Clear The Shelters Campaign is ER Courageous aka Mateo.
Mateo is a 2009 Shetland pony pinto gelding standing 10 hands tall. Upon arrival this pony was in so much pain, he was aggressive and reluctant with any handling or attention from his new caregivers. With our expert team of caregivers, veterinarians, and farrier we have watched this pony do a complete 180 degree turn around. Out of pain now, he is receptive to our questions and eager to please. As shown in this video, Mateo has a lovely personality, the one that makes us all fall in love with horses. With proper handling, care, and training, this brave pony will make someone incredibly happy. If you are interested in Mateo, send an email to [email protected]

Remember that starting tomorrow the one shelter with the single largest donation between Tuesday, August 27th at 1 p.m. ET and Monday, September 2nd at 11:59pm ET will receive a $5,000 grant from The Animal Rescue Site.
The two shelters who receive the highest number of individual gifts during this timeframe, regardless of donation size, will each receive $5,000 grants from The Animal Rescue Site.

National Help A Horse Day is a day of acknowledgment to not only showcase our love of horses but also bring crucial attention to all the equines that need our help from neglect and abuse.
Dental Day is a very essential day for our equines. It is a day to have DR. Hyde and his students give the equines necessary vaccines and dental work, as well as give each equine a detailed exam.
