Hertig Ranch Boer Goats & Anatolian Shepherd Guardian Dogs

Hertig Ranch Boer Goats & Anatolian Shepherd Guardian Dogs Owned and operated by Jack and Dee Hertig I wanted a goat!! Jack looked at me like I had lost my mind. Pretty Girl was the start of our herd.

Our Story ......

When we moved to Young County, we knew our little place could not support many cattle & at our age, we no longer WISHED to wrangle cattle like in our younger years. Very good friends gave me a bred percentage Boer doe for Christmas. We have learned from the school of hard knocks and grown our herd to the size that it keeps us busy. Jack is as serious about "his goats" as he is wi

th his Reining Horses. I couldn't do this without him! It gives us some "us time" as every night at feeding, we inspect the herd, no TV - no smart phones - just us, the Anatolians and the goats. ANATOLIANS ARE THE BEST RANCH DOGS YOU COULD WANT!!! Our herd is high percentage but we no longer bother with registration. Any questions about us, our goats, our Anatolians - please call Dee at 940-550-5380 or email [email protected]. Thank you for visiting!!

Our story....

I wanted a goat!!! At that time, Jack looked at me like I was out of my mind. Very good friends gave me a bred percentage Boer doe for Christmas. Pretty Girl was the start of our herd - years ago. We’ve learned from the school of hard knocks and have grown our herd to the size that it keeps Jack and I pretty busy. Jack is as serious about “his goats” as he is with his Reining Horses. I couldn’t do this without him!!! Gives us some “us” time as every night at feeding, we inspect the herd no TV- no smart phones - just us and goats. We added Anatolian Shepherds one at a time for guardian duties. ANATOLIANS ARE THE BEST RANCH DOGS YOU COULD WANT!!!

Welcome to our new page! We have been in the commercial Boer Goat business since 2006 with Pretty Girl. BTW she had triplets the first year LOL. Spring is busy but always fun with the antics of the new "kids". "Darrell" and "Grumbles" are out with their ladies so we will be excited to see new offspring next spring.

Grumbles is 100% Boer- registered and a son of Royal Rumble. This is our first year to breed with Grumbles, he was at our daughter and son-in-laws last breeding season (Texas Anatolian Shepherds and show/meat goats) please visit their page. Grumbles had some awesome babies this spring so we are excited he is back home with us where we have hand picked his harem.
