We are reaching out during a difficult time due to Sam and Chevy's owner recently passing away, leaving behind his cherished dogs, in need of a new home(s). We are seeking a loving and caring family or rescue who can provide the same warmth and companionship that they have enjoyed.

We are hopeful that someone within our community might be able to open their heart and home to these dogs.

Oh yes, being in vet med is just endless fun with puppies& kittens!

We never have to deal with anything gross, stressful, or heartbreaking.

Forget about the emergency calls, the never-ending paperwork, and foreign body surgeries.

Dogs are particularly sensitive to heat and can suffer from heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Here are some key points to consider when managing dogs in hot weather:

1. Hydration: Ensure your dog has access to fresh, clean water at all times. Dehydration can happen quickly in the heat.
2. Shade and Cool Areas: Provide a shaded area or cool spot for your dog to rest. Avoid leaving them outside for long periods, especially during peak heat hours (10 AM to 4 PM).
3. Exercise: Limit vigorous exercise during the hottest parts of the day. Opt for early morning or late evening walks when temperatures are cooler.
4. Pavement Check: Pavement and asphalt can become extremely hot and burn your dog’s paws. Check the surface with your hand before allowing your dog to walk on it.
5. Heatstroke Signs: Be aware of signs of heatstroke, which include excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, confusion, vomiting, and collapse. If you suspect heatstroke, move your dog to a cooler area and contact a veterinarian immediately.
6. Cooling Measures: Use fans, cooling mats, or damp towels to help your dog cool down. Avoid using ice or very cold water, as this can cause shock.
7. Never Leave in a Car: Never leave your dog in a parked car, even for a few minutes. Temperatures inside a car can rise rapidly and become deadly.

1. Symptoms:
• Swelling at the sting site
• Pain and discomfort
• Itching and redness
• In severe cases, difficulty breathing, vomiting, or collapse
2. Immediate Actions:
• Remove the stinger if it’s visible.
• Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling.
• Monitor your dog for signs of an allergic reaction.
3. When to See a Vet:
• If the sting is in the mouth or throat, as swelling could block the airway.
• If your dog shows signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing, vomiting, or extreme swelling.
