I’m just going to be blunt here -
If you bring me your double coated dog and want it shaved for any reason other than it being medically necessary, I will curse under my breath the ENTIRE time I’m doing so.

FYI:
It doesn’t keep them cooler
It doesn’t stop them from shedding
It can cause their coat to not grow back
They don’t look cute

Schedule regular deshed grooms with me.
Let’s make sure their coats don’t get impacted
Regular desheds help with shedding!
Brushing at home helps with shedding
Double coated dogs stay cooler in summer and warmer in winter WITH THE COAT THEY WERE MADE TO HAVE!!!

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Please help ….

A grieving family reached out for help dealing with a hoarding situation that they were unaware of until their family member passed away.
55 dogs living in squalor. 55. Unfortunately, some were too ill to be saved which left 46 dogs needed placement. Thanks to some of our kind foster families, we were able to be one of several rescues who stepped up to help. These dogs are not available for adoption yet because… well… they need some grooming and a whole bunch of medical attention.
They are safe with us but if you are able to help in any way with these unexpected costs on an already shoestring budget, we would certainly appreciate it. We really can’t say it enough. Thank you... so much. ❤️‍🩹

It's black fly season again. These pesky flies lurk in the grass in the Spring and tend to bite the bellies of our canine companions. In most cases, the bites do not bother the dogs one bit. If you find a rash on your dog's belly and it doesn't go away in about a week or appears to be bothering your dog, please give our office a call at 616-949-0960.

Dr. McBride had this to say about black fly season, "Most clients will mistake these for ringworm, but it's not. The best way to prevent these is by not letting your dogs sleep outside when the flies are active."

🔔 I don't know who needs to hear this, but be sure to wash your pet's water bowl too! Ideally every day, but at least once a week.
