Max is coming around!! The first video I posted of him he wanted to run back to Chicago when he saw the place board. After working on some engagement and food luring, I was able to make him believe it was his idea to get on the board. That took all the taboo out of it! 👌🏻

Apparently Princess👑 is a huge baseball fan!! Who would have thought?!?

Pressure can be a powerful and empowering tool when applied correctly!Meet Max, a 1.5-year-old Cane Corso from Chicago who recently joined my six-week obedience program. He tends to be quite twitchy, skittish, and easily startled. Just before I started recording, he almost ripped my finger off my left hand after reacting to the sound of the place board moving.To address this, I put a dominant slip collar on him, which eliminates the option of fleeing. Once I began recording, he instinctively thought fleeing was still an option, but that didn’t work out for him. He quickly learns to hold himself accountable. I remain silent and unreactive, allowing him to believe he’s the one creating the conflict, which he is.Throughout the session, I aim to trigger his stressors while using pressure to guide him onto the place board. Each time he makes a small effort, the pressure is alleviated as a reward. He soon discovers that being on the place board brings a sense of neutrality. Although he’s still quite nervous and not interested in food, I’m optimistic that once he understands the game, his appetite will return. Stay tuned for updates!
