Holidays are hard. You are loved. You are more than enough. You are a conquerer. And the gift of you in my life is precious!

DEPRESSION TIPS:

Shower. Not a bath, a shower.
Use water as hot or cold as you like. You don’t even need to wash. Just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. Sit on the floor if you gotta.

Moisturize everything.
Use whatever lotion you like.
Unscented? Dollar store lotion? Fancy 48-hour lotion that makes you smell like a field of wildflowers? Use whatever you want, and use it all over your entire dermis.

Put on clean, comfortable clothes.
Put on your favorite underwear.
Those ridiculous boxers you bought last Christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? Put them on.

Drink cold water.
Use ice. If you want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost.

Clean something.
Doesn’t have to be anything big. Organize one drawer of a desk. Wash five dirty dishes. Do a load of laundry. Scrub the bathroom sink.

Blast music.
Listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something that’s got lots of energy. Sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both.

Make food.
Don’t just grab a granola bar to munch. Take the time and make food. Even if it’s ramen. Add something special to it, like a soft-boiled egg or some veggies. Prepare food, it tastes way better, and you’ll feel like you accomplished something.

Make something.
Write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, or anything artistic. Even if you don’t think you’re good at it. Create.

Go outside.
Take a walk. Sit in the grass. Look at the clouds. Smell flowers. Put your hands in the dirt and feel the soil against your skin.

Call someone.
Call a loved one, a friend, or a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. Talk to a stranger on the street. Have a conversation and listen to someone’s voice. If you can’t bring yourself to call, text, email, or whatever, just have some social interaction with another person. Even if you don’t say much, listen to them. It helps.

Cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them.
Take pictures of them. Talk to them. Tell them how you feel, about your favorite movie, a new game coming out, anything.

May seem small or silly to some, but this list keeps people alive.

*** At your absolute best you won’t be good enough for the wrong people. But at your worst, you’ll still be worth it to the right ones. Remember that. Keep holding on.

*** In case nobody has told you today I love you and you are worth your weight and then some in gold, so be kind to yourself and most of all keep pushing on!!!!

Find something to be grateful for!

May I please get 2 friends or family members to copy and re-post? You never know who on your list needs to hear this.

Just two. Any two.

Say DONE.

BIG SHOUT out to the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades Sunday School class of FBC in Floydada. These young men and women adopted two of our Angel Tree kids this year. They purchased the gifts with their own money earned by selling pecans, washing windows, cutting down trees, raking leaves, and they even ran a module builder and more! After purchasing the gifts, they met at church and did their own wrapping! What an awesome Angel Tree story!
We will deliver these gifts along with many others this Saturday! Don't miss out on the blessing. Meet at 8:30am at Christian Life Assembly of God, 5917-66th Street.

Statement on Duane and Deana Wendt:

After returning to Lubbock from San Antonio I have discovered there are many questions and mis-information being asked and posted on facebook and other sites. Hopefully this information will help answer a few questions and clear up some things.

Thursday morning Duane and Deana Wendt along with 5 other fellowship riders set out on a ride to attend the Lone Star Ralley in Galveston. The group elected to take a southerly route in hopes of avoiding heavy rain.

At approximately 3pm on Thursday afternoon, Duane hit a small puddle of water and lost control of his motorcycle on I10 approximatley 15 miles east of Junction. Duane and Deana were transported by ambulance to Peterson Memorial Hospital in Kerrville. Deana was treated for broken arm and road rash but was released that evening. Duane was treated and later transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center with trauma to the head and multiple other injuries. The group was joined by family and four more Fellowship Riders and best friends.

Surgery was performed on Duane's head injuries that evening. On Friday morning he underwent surgery to his right leg. He remained on a respirator for the duration of the weekend. By Sunday morning the decision was made to slowly wake Duane and have him breathe on his own, however it was later determined his injuries were much to great for him to survive. By Sunday evening Deana with the support of everyone with her made the decision that it was time to honor Duane's adament wishes not to be kept on life support.

Then started the process of honoring his selfless commitment of organ donation. The common misconception is that this is a quick process. It is anything but... Duane's life support continues until all of the proper chanels are completed and donor recipients are located and in place. This is a long grueling wait. Deana is a rock and has stuck by Duane to see his final gift of himself is honored.

As of the time of this statement, Duane remains on life support and is about to be moved to the OR for the final steps. Please be in Prayer for Deana an her family as they finish a VERY long difficult 4 days.

After tonight there will still be a 24 to 48 hour wait before Deana can have Duane's body released to her for final arrangements. Once complete, she will return to Lubbock.

The Fellowship Rider Lubbock family has pulled together in a great way to support and provide for Deana, her family, and each other during this time.

There are other groups and friends asking about final rides and life celebrations and want to know what is being done. I would ask that all please wait for Deana to return and give her time to rest and breathe. You have no idea how grueling this process has been thus far and there are still many more hours of waiting.

I pledge to everyone, as the DIrector of Fellowship RIders Lubbock, myself and the leadership team and close friends, at the direction of Deana, will make sure information about services, celebrations, rides or anything Deana wishes to honor Duane in will be diseminated to all.

Please honor Duane and respect Deana's time and privacy until that time.

Thank you and God Bless. We will ALL miss Duane FRL Wendt.
